So... he has called and secured date number 4 & 5! (A gig and him cooking dinner) so I'm very pleased that he's thinking ahead a good sign I think!?

Last night we heard scampering above DS bedroom. dP checked loft for rats. Couldn't see anything. But kept hearing the noise. So scary . DP practically starts putting the house on Rightmove.

This morning pest control came out, and it's a baby sparrow trapped in our gutter :_(

But! He found the beginnings of a wasps nest and sprayed it. So it was actually lucky he came out! Poor baby bird saved us alot of trouble

Ooh feather I think I'm a bit jealous! I swore off men after all the crap with my exh but you've given me hope that good guys do still exist! Having said that my ex DP (my relationship before my ridiculous marriage) was lovely. He's still one of my best friends, and I still call his DC my stepDC - although they're in their late twenties now we still chat most weeks. He wanted to move to Canada when his kids went off to uni, I couldn't bear to take my DC away from their family here. So that was all a bit sad but we ended on good terms.

I've got a very lovely male friend who I know is just waiting for me to decide to dip my toe into the dating pool again. Maybe this year is the year to go for it haha!

BakeOff I'm passing all your advice on to my DD. I really hope she decides to take it further. She has all her notes plus all the texts she sent me with a timeline of care etc.

Nigella ooh a wasp nest! Horrible things. I'm not too bothered about most insects, happy to catch a spider and put it outside, but I see no point in wasps at all!

I sorry it didn't work out with his move to Canada, I don't know why but Canada has never appealed to me either to travel too.
I'm quite excited and nervous at the same time as it actually feels like this could be something real! I was really being to loose hope of any real gentlemen existing

Yeah exDPs kids are much older than mine so obviously when they were ready to leave the nest he rightly wanted to spread his wings too. We're still quite close even now, which is nice. He was a great shoulder when I was going through stuff with my exh.

Yeah you know I've been leaning towards seeing where things would go with my friend. He's been consistently lovely for the last 3-4 years, never been pushy but always making sure I knew he's interested. Hm.

BakeOff, yes I'm still pretty happy about the thread getting into Classics (shows how exciting things are around here...). It was interesting to see what kind of questions people asked, but I do feel bad about people who were taking it seriously.

Nigella Poor little birdie, but thank goodness it wasn't something worse. I remember a friend of mine in my teenage years had bats in her ceiling, and they were so noisy and scary!

Kurt I second the idea of going for it with your friend. You won't have to sort through a bunch of creeps first. Not that all men out there are creeps, but it's noteworthy that "didn't send a dick pic" was on Feather's Pros list. It seems to happen far too often. I don't get it!

@UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa the worst experience I've had with dick pics was that it wasn't even really a pic of his dick and when I saw the teal dick it was just a snippet of the size of the well endowed dick pic and not in very good working order 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@BakeOffRewatch honestly my love life has had a significant lull for ages and I'm no longer in charge of any little people so it's quite exciting making plans and dolling myself up lol.
Yes I decided to put the 'staying home' thing on the back burner. It had only been first date so it's anyone's guess who he might have been out with. he's keen to keep me abreast of his week and what he's up to since then so I take that as a positive.

Definitely no dick pics from my friend. He's a lovely bloke, his consistency and non-pushyness is certainly very appealing. And I'm not getting any younger 😆
