Anyone else had changes to their cycle after the covid jab and want to compare notes?

I had the Pfizer on Day 8 of my cycle and currently 2 days late (BFN this morning so apparently not pregnant).

Anyone else?

Well this is going to be an absolute joy when we have to have regular boosters to maintain immunity, especially those TTC

My last one was 10 days late. I thought I might be PM so I ordered a blood test. Will update results if I remember.

So I had it seems, following my covid jab (Pfizer)..

Dose 1: given 5 days before period due. That period was normal - perhaps slightly shorter and lighter. My period ended on the Saturday, on the Wednesday I started spotting, and continued to spot until Monday when I started bleeding really heavily - heavy than my periods ever are. I went through, I. One week, four boxes of super plus tampons, and one and a half packets of pads. This bleeding lasted 5 days, followed by spotting for two days. I ovulated immediately after this period ended too. It has been a weird cycle but I’m hoping everything has settled down. I stopped bleeding over a week ago now and all seems well - so far!

Glad I typed in looking for theses posts , because my first and second periods after Pfizer, (think it's spelt wrong ), but anyway we're quite painful and short (5 days)I'm also either early or late , I'm regularly 7 days ,bang on time , now I'm bloody lost on my dates , and best thing is I always wear a pad when I know I'm due ,and that did not happen ,Hell no!!!, was sitting in specsavers a week before my period and felt offish (yeah like period feeling ,which I thought why am I feeling this ,yeah bloody took it in there , no protection on , had to go to Asda toilet after it , only to find I took my period,..so yeah mines fecked up after both vaccinations...I was starting to worry ..

Pfizer here. I normally have a fairly irregular cycle (6-8 weeks) and it's heavy/flooding.
2 days after 1st jab I came on, light and 2-3 days long, this was only 3 weeks after last period but this pattern has continued for a couple of months now. Dr suggested peri-menopause but it's a strange coincidence, I'm early 40s. However, l can't say I'm complaining about the much lighter periods but can understand why people might think the jab affects fertility with all this anecdotal evidence of changes to menstrual cycles just being dismissed.

You should report your side effects to the yellow card scheme so that there's a full picture of what is happening to women. I found out today on another thread that many people don't know about the scheme so don't report the problem.

I'm currently having the period from hell, having had a booster on 3 of January and no period when expected around 5 Jan. I'm on a 26 days cycle so was quite a few days late, nearly a whole cycle. Now on day five of a very heavy period. Lots of clots, back pain and contractions. Had the Moderna Vaccine and had no problems with first two doses, but this booster one caused all my lymph nodes to swell under my arms meaning I could wear a bra for a week. Anyone else been through this? Those who had messed around with periods - how long before things got back to normal? I'm in my early 40s.

mammajustkilledagnat · 05/02/2022 19:18

couldn't. not could.

Cherryblossoms85 · 05/02/2022 19:19

Yes and it didn't concern me in the slightest. One month out by a week. So what. Why's everyone so woo-woo about this.

mammajustkilledagnat · 05/02/2022 19:21

Because it nevers happens to me and I'm bleeding like a stuck pig?

36degrees · 05/02/2022 19:24

Because even though it's a minor inconvenience to me to have my cycle disrupted for 6 months it could potentially be more serious than that to other women, and the more evidence is reported the more likely it is to be taken seriously and investigated.

mammajustkilledagnat · 05/02/2022 19:26

@36degrees did you have 6 months disruption? Cripes! I hope it's all back to normal now? I'm not enjoying this period at all, I'm supposed to e working tomorrow and I'm going to have to call in sick as I can't move far from the loo.

36degrees · 05/02/2022 19:31

@mammajustkilledagnat I had two vaccines and a booster and had issues for 2 cycles after each one.

mammajustkilledagnat · 05/02/2022 19:33

Ah right, hence the 6 months. Now I understand. Fingers crossed its back to normal soon for me too. Thanks for replying.

ihaveonecat · 05/02/2022 19:33

I had a smear test and my 4th covid vaccine 8 days ago and I've been spotting ever since. Strange spotting too, not quite sure whether it's the smear or the vaccine

36degrees · 05/02/2022 20:46

@mammajustkilledagnat no problem, better to be really clear on these things Smile

mammajustkilledagnat · 07/02/2022 13:20

So, sorry to be back again, but how heavy is too heavy? I'm getting a bit worried here. TMI warning - I can sit on the loo and push out clots the size of a £2 coin and bigger. I just spent ten minutes and must have pushed out 6 of these one after the other. Should I be worried? Now on day 7 and day 4 of heavy bleeding. To make matters worse, my daughter has just tested positive with a quick test for Corona and s sent home form school. I'm feeling ropey, but not sure if this is also Corona.
