Anyone else had changes to their cycle after the covid jab and want to compare notes?

I had the Pfizer on Day 8 of my cycle and currently 2 days late (BFN this morning so apparently not pregnant).

Anyone else?

My last period was beginning of March, had Moderna end of April. Period is still awol.
I am 46 an am most definitely Peri, so don’t think the vaccine has had any effect, but I wouldn’t know anyway!

Due 2nd vaccine in 4 weeks,

Myal · 20/06/2021 00:01

Started another bleed 6 days after 2nd jab (AZ) and a week after last period.

I'm still bleeding...its been 7 days today.

Also, really weird and vivid dreams!!

doodlejump1980 · 20/06/2021 08:11

Had AZ on 3rd May. Period started early on 20th May and has been a constant bleed since then. This is day 32 of constant bleeding. But my periods have been awful since having my twins. But this is something else! Wah!

I had Pfizer on day 10 of my cycle and my period was 3 days late and much lighter.

RubixRubicon · 20/06/2021 08:24

I have a Mirena and haven’t had a period for almost 3 years. Within 2 days of my AZ jab, I had a period. None since. For reference I am mid 40’s and I think am peri-menopausal.

toptomatoes · 20/06/2021 08:27

15 days late after first Pfizer jab, and I’m never late.

twinkletoesimnot · 20/06/2021 08:28

I bled for 3 weeks. It wasn't a period - lighter and bright red.

Stopped for 8 days and then started again yesterday 🙄

I have PCOS so have random periods, but never anything like this before.

Rang and (eventually) spoke to nurse but she was totally uninterested and said it would be my coil. (Again, not happened before.)

I had Pfizer.

TempsPerdu · 20/06/2021 08:40

Mine was 10 days late after first AZ jab - unheard for me (annoyingly short cycles normally). Also unusually heavy and painful with clots.

After 2nd jab period came on time but again was super painful and accompanied by palpitations, crushing fatigue and nausea - haven’t had symptoms that severe since I was a teenager. Lasted several days longer than normal.

I’m 40 so could be entering perimenopause I suppose, but timing (with two completely normal cycles in between) does suggest a link. I’ve reported via the Yellow Card scheme.

ninebiscuits · 20/06/2021 08:47

Interesting reading... I had my first Pfizer day 15 of my cycle... I'm now a week late. I have a coil fitted so unlikely to be pregnant.

RJnomore1 · 20/06/2021 09:20

I had AZ about 3 weeks ago, period the next week about roughly when I would expect it (always had a slightly unpredictable cycle by a few days) but much lighter than usual which I won’t grumble about.

Will see what happens next time

franke · 20/06/2021 09:28

Period started normally the day after my first Pfizer jab. Subsequent period exactly 2 weeks late. Had my second jab 3 days ago and period started last night (the two week late one). I've always been reasonably regular so it was a bit of a shock. I really didn't expect, aged 53, to be sitting on the bathroom floor waiting for the results of a pregnancy test, which is what I had to do last week. I'm never this late.

CorianderBee · 20/06/2021 10:09

Yes. I skipped a period after AZ and they've been all over the place ever since. Greenfly on my third period in a 5 week space and it's much worse than usual!

Bizarre and painful.

CorianderBee · 20/06/2021 10:11

Currently* not greenfly...

ThreeB · 20/06/2021 10:20

Weirdly, the vaccine seems to have kicked mine back into regularity. I had Covid in August and my periods went haywire afterwards. Cycle down to as short as 11 days and really heavy bleeding. I had my first vaccine 9 weeks ago and I'm back to my usual cycle and bleeding levels. It's all very odd

SweatyBetty20 · 20/06/2021 11:21

@twinkletoesimnot interesting point you raised about the colour - mine was the same - bright red. I’m not normally squeamish around blood but the sheer amount and colour of what came out of me was truly unnerving.

CookPassBabtridge · 20/06/2021 12:03

God I had forgotten they did this. Mine has just shown up a week late. Had the pfizer 3.5 weeks ago.
I thought it was just stress.

Itstheprinciple · 20/06/2021 12:18

My mum (mid 60s definitely post menopausal) began bleeding within 12 hours of having had her first AZ vaccine. She has never had this before. She went for investigations obviously and was told she had small fibroids but she is convinced that it was the vaccine that made her bleed as these fibroids had never given her a minute's trouble until the day of her vaccine. She has also started having menopausal symptoms after the vaccine, and she didn't really have many when she was going through the menopause. She thinks it's affected her hormones somehow. I had Pfizer and I've been fine but I'm on the pill so that controls mine anyway.

ChaToilLeam · 20/06/2021 12:23

I am perimenopausal and my periods are now erratic and light. One day after my first AZ dose, the most enormously painful period came on, very heavy and debilitating for a week, then lighter for a further week. I had a period 2 weeks before that so wasn’t even remotely due. Also been having more frequent hot flushes since then.

BarbedBloom · 20/06/2021 12:25

Yes. Skipped two periods (not pregnant) and have now been bleeding for 2 weeks, when I am normally 3 days.

Seasidevibes · 20/06/2021 13:03

Since my first jab I’ve been bleeding every 10-14 days docs did blood tests and sent me for an ultrasound (internal) everything looks healthy and bloods came back fine

Makinglists · 20/06/2021 13:24

I'm 51 and was still regular - had AZ jab on 25 March (day 1 cycle) then had a other period 2 weeks later then nothing - have bloating and feel like I want to come on but nothing. It may be age but seems suspicious it all happened at time of jab. I've reported it via yellow card scheme

Percivalthebabyspider · 20/06/2021 13:43

I think so. Period 4 days early after Pfizer and with the most agonising bowel pain. Horrific and hasn’t been like that in years.

Percivalthebabyspider · 20/06/2021 13:49

And the bright red colour too which I’ve never had before.

steppemum · 20/06/2021 13:50

I had AZ. No effect from first jab.
Second jab an Tuesday and period started Wednesday, proper period that lasted 6 days

I am 54 and have mirena coil, I pretty much don't get periods at all now, if anything a dribble that lasts a morning, so a proper period had me scrabbling roudn for tampons etc.

HaplotypeK · 20/06/2021 13:59

Have had 1 dose of Pfizer and have had no changes to my period or cycle.
