Anyone else had changes to their cycle after the covid jab and want to compare notes?

I had the Pfizer on Day 8 of my cycle and currently 2 days late (BFN this morning so apparently not pregnant).

Anyone else?

I had 1st AZ back in feb, mid 30's, missed next period that was due then 2 heavy periods close together. Iv had the lightest period ever this month so very strange.

2 months late after Astra Z but I'm on the coil

EduCated · 19/06/2021 21:01

Moderna - period at normal time, but the hugest clot(s) I have ever seen. Like, monster.

My period was a week late after AZ. Returned to normal cycle afterwards. Just had second dose so I'll see if it's affected again. I'm early 40s.

Vgtasd · 19/06/2021 21:19

1st AZ - period came early and was very very heavy

Side effects like this should be reported to the government's yellow card scheme

This is very interesting. It seems to be a really common phenomenon with all 3 vaccines. (I use the pill to prevent me having periods at all and had no menstrual side effects from my 2 AZs but many of my female friends are reporting them.)

flower11 · 19/06/2021 21:44

I've had 2 Pfizer vaccine. My last 3 periods have been really heavy, soaked through trousers and clots. Never experienced periods like that before.

GrandmasCat · 19/06/2021 21:44

Yes and I urge you to report it as then the issue can be investigated as a whole.

My periods have been light and short but the one after the AZ vaccine was massively heavy, I was changing both an extra size tampon and night pad every two hours for 2 days. I ended up on tranaexamic acid tablets to help control the bleeding on the third day.

I’ll get the link to report and post back

PandemicPalava · 19/06/2021 21:50

Yes! A week after jab I came on a week early and it was incredibly painful. I passed a clot which filled my menstrual cup

PineappleMojito · 19/06/2021 21:54

2 AZ jabs. On Yasmin. No changes.

ByTheStarryNight · 19/06/2021 21:56

12 days late after AZ 1st jab, then barely a bleed since, all oddly light.
I'm 7 days late at the moment after my 2nd AZ jab. Beginning to wish there was a button you could press to just flush it all out. I feel so heavy!

I am in perimenopause anyway, but reported to the yellow card scheme because it was weird to be so late, even for me.

gamerchick · 19/06/2021 21:58

AZ both jabs, period around 4 days after each one no matter where I was in my cycle. Didn't think it was out of the ordinary since our reproductive system is joined to our immune system.

TiptopJ · 19/06/2021 22:00

This is interesting. Had the Pfizer vaccine 3 weeks ago and im 2 days late. Almost certain I'm not pregnant. I came off the pill after I had dd last year and since my periods returned a few months ago I've been like clockwork.

RoseWineandCake · 19/06/2021 22:03

I had AZ, no issues after 1st or 2nd

RoseWineandCake · 19/06/2021 22:04

did you notice if you ovulate later?

TammyS86 · 19/06/2021 22:05

I had Pfizer on D2 of my cycle and it halted it overnight, usually about 4 days long. I've had 3 normal cycles since then so I'm personally not concerned but found it interesting.

Thecatsawinner · 19/06/2021 22:22

I’ve missed two periods since first AZ jab.,

StyleAndLasers · 19/06/2021 22:26

Yep. Just had first period after AZ jab. I don’t track them but I am sure it was surprisingly early, and it was very, very short.

Timeisavirtue · 19/06/2021 22:36

I wouldn’t be able to tell as mine are irregular and all over the place. Fully vaccinated since my last one so will keep and eye out for any changes.

MrsNewms85 · 19/06/2021 22:43

Crazy heavy and early too. Hope you're ok.

EduCated · 19/06/2021 22:54

Reported it to the Yellow Card thing - thanks to those who shared the link. Important that information like this is recorded.

SweatyBetty20 · 19/06/2021 23:13

Had first Moderna jab mid-April while I had my period. Got my next period a month later and bled for 20 out of the next 30 days. The heaviest period I’ve ever had - last week I filled 4 moon cups per day and the most horrific clots. Next jab 6 July so will be bracing myself for the next couple of months.

EishetChayil · 19/06/2021 23:44

I'm breastfeeding 9 month old DD and have had no change to my periods since my first Astra Zeneca jab 9 weeks ago. Still like clockwork. I have my second one on Tuesday next week.
