You can post multiple times but there must be at least one post in between.

Could someone please explain how to do a link?

What 10 essentials should always be in a freezer?

My list -

  1. garlic bread slices.
  2. sliced bread
  3. ice cubes/sliced lemon/sliced lime
  4. peas
  5. mushrooms
  6. milk
  7. sausages
  8. spiniche
  9. cooked bean mix
10. cauliflower
UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 17/06/2021 17:10

@PandemicAtTheDisco Great list! It's mostly veg and pizzas here. And I do freeze a loaf of sliced bread because I can't get through a whole loaf by myself before it starts getting sketchy.

Links are done with the square brackets. You'll need two on each side.

I'm a dating disaster. I propositioned a man on my first blind date - he was standing where we arranged to meet, innocently waiting for his girlfriend - she wasn't best pleased when she turned up.

I was minutes away from leaving him anyway as I just couldn't get him to talk to me.

My second to last proper date turned into a ten year stalker.

I'd probably add meat balls to my freezer list. I can no longer always roll my own balls each time I cook so I make a huge batch then freeze small amounts in sauce.

Sliced lemon and lime ? Brilliant idea

pandemicatthedisco "My second to last proper date turned into a ten year stalker."

What a nightmare!

Oh, and thanks for the link tip. I think I had used just one bracket on each side before.

Ex's are the worst.

I sometimes think of my extremely wealthy ex and consider whether I made a mistake letting him go.

And then I take my medication!

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 17/06/2021 17:49

Thanks, PandemicAtTheDisco and HannaHat. I'm trying this link again.

Exh has had sore throat and runny nose type covid symptoms since Tuesday but didn't bother telling me until this evening. My DC have been there for the last 48 hours!! I've said to please get tested so we can rule it out as all I'm hearing is 'it's probably hayfever..' Well that's great if it is but if not .. But no. Flat out refuses to get tested, says if I'm so bothered I should test the DC and myself. I know I have no control over it but what a git. So now I guess we isolate for 10 days just in case? Which is gutting because it's my Dsis wedding on Saturday after having had to cancel it twice, and the DC were to be involved in the ceremony.

PandemicAtTheDisco · 17/06/2021 18:00

I used to think it was purposeful sabotage but now I just think it's stupidity and thoughtlessness with no malicious intent.

The link has not worked for me.

PurpleyBlue · 17/06/2021 18:31

What 10 essentials should always be in a freezer?

My list is very similar:

  1. garlic bread slices.
  2. sliced bread
  3. Broccoli
  4. Carrots
  5. An emergency lasagne (can be homemade or shop bought)
  6. Pizza
  7. sausages
  8. Fish fingers
  9. Milk
10. Chicken burger/breaded chicken
PandemicAtTheDisco · 17/06/2021 18:42

The essential freezer list goes with the essential store cupboard list though. My list has been the same for ages - even when I was a vegan.

I chop up lemon and limes and freeze them in ice cube trays with water for drinks mainly.

Has mumsnet gone a bit glitchy or is it me?

Feels stormy again. Storm last night was very disappointing.

That's infuriating! So selfish and unreasonable! Angry

That's awful, @KurtWilde. I'm sorry about that. Sad

Can you keep us posted, please? I hope it is something innocuous.

PandemicAtTheDisco · 17/06/2021 18:53

Pollen is very high for grass at the moment so hopefully it is hay fever.

One of my family members has a few on her at all times and insists people use them. It's sometimes laziness when people won't test.

KurtWilde · 17/06/2021 18:56

Exh is a covid denier through and through. When me and the DC had it in January I got accused of withholding contact for 14 days without reason Confused

For context of the type of person I'm dealing with.

I think if I get us some lateral flow tests tomorrow and they're negative then we should be ok to go?

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 17/06/2021 18:57

@PandemicAtTheDisco The link seems to be working for me but I'm the one who posted it. Maybe Mumsnet is glitchy because it doesn't want us to complete this thread. It's a conspiracy!

Feels stormy again. Storm last night was very disappointing. it was. Need a good storm. The tomatoes need watering.

BooksChocolateAndSleep · 17/06/2021 18:59

Just made dinner which everyone moaned about beforehand but all really enjoyed which never happens in this house!

PurpleyBlue · 17/06/2021 19:00

BooksChocolateAndSleep horray! Always good to find something everyone enjoys!

BooksChocolateAndSleep · 17/06/2021 19:01

@PurpleyBlue we just had rain last night no storm, really disappointing because I love a good storm!

AutistGoth · 17/06/2021 19:01

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the tests are negative, @KurtWilde.

The link does work for me, @UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa

PurpleyBlue · 17/06/2021 19:03

We had rain but I think no storm and the tomatoes look dry again

KurtWilde · 17/06/2021 19:05

Thanks @AutistGoth it's just one more thing in a long list of shitty things. It's hard to appeal to someone's better side when they don't have one.

I'll pick up tests tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed. We're in an area of variant concern so it's a worry.
