I bought a vase in a charity shop this morning. I was walking past the shop and had a gut feeling to look, hoping that they might just have the exact size & shape glass vase I've been unsuccessfully browsing for online.
can't explain it, my spidey senses tingling were tingling! and they were right this time, there it was, just perfect.

She looked at my purchase and said "this is nice" and I jokingly volunteered "yes, thanks, it's something I've wanted for a while and had a gut feeling you'll have it!"

her: "that's a nice feeling. I'll hope you have it for long. now wish that feeling back for me!"
me: "😳 ummmm....ok, I hope you have my gut feeling??" and I walked out.

she had a very strict, sort of demanding face. she did not joke at all.

It may have been a garbled way of her saying pass some luck on to her

Bit of a strange thing to say alright - I would've had no idea what she meant, so probably would have smiled politely and just left.

You had one of those good luck experiences, you are supposed to pass it on!

It's no more odd than you believing an inner sense told you they would have a vase

Maybe she'd had her eye on the vase and was angry with herself that she hadn't already bought it!

She reminds me of the tailors in The Fast Show, who over-enthusiastically ask "And how are we today, Sir?" and then berate the customer if he doesn't reciprocate, so that they can say "Radiant, Sir, radiant!"

I don't think she meant for you to literally say it back, she probably thought that was a bit odd! I would just have laughed.
