If your grandchild was given your childhood pet name what would they be called?

Thankfully my pet name died out when I was very young or I'd really pity any future great grandchild been called Didding.
What horror could be inflicted on yours?

Bubbles. Because apparently when I was born I was blowing little spit bubbles Grin

Toots then later Flash because I was always running about!

My much younger brother used to call me Faffy for a very short while as he couldn’t pronounce my name. My uncle, who I don’t see very often, still tries to use it now... I’m 35!

Dotty or Dot as I was small (I still am short) and still have a few family members that call me it now and I'm in my 30's

We called our daughter a beloved grandmother's pet name. The family loved it but we aren't important enough for the tabloids to give a monkeys and find trouble where there isn't. This is a "thing" with our family though, all first born have a grandparent's name as a middle name. Luckily names from the 40's / 50's are popular!

My childhood pet name was dreadful - it was a made up word, I can't tell it because it would be outing. A visiting relative once declared they really didn't like it. As a child I was quite put out, but they had a point. I would be horrified if my great grandchild was named it Grin

Scarby9 · 09/06/2021 17:22

Either Marigold or Hamlet.
Not that horrific.

Pickle.

Our children were nicknamed Tomps, Nibble Nickers, LuLu, Picklelump (renamed himself Archibald Broccoli) and Cabbage. Youngest still gets called Cabbage or "Cabs" , particularly by the sibling who is nearest to her in age.

Iwantmychairback · 09/06/2021 17:32

My daughter would be called Fred.

My niece would be Blossom.

Guess if it was me or my sister who was the tomboy!

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 09/06/2021 17:36

Chari. I still get called this by one branch of the family. It makes me sound like I'm 6. I'm 53. Hmm

VettiyaIruken · 09/06/2021 17:38

Heidi, that's awful. I'm sorry.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 09/06/2021 17:40

Sis. My own DD would be called Lillibet (MIL was named after Saint Elisabeth but had the same childhood nickname as the Queen. Her own mum called her that until she died.)
