Sorry, couldn't find the news topic. This has just made me so angry today. What is it with make entitlement? They think they can just do what they want with us women?

I wonder if in time we’ll know if he is responsible for any historic sex crimes too...

Hovverry · 08/06/2021 11:18

Colin Pitchfork raped and murdered a fifteen year old child while his baby son was in his car. How awful for his son to grow up knowing that and another reason to keep such a monster in prison for life.

Gameofbones · 08/06/2021 11:20

From what I understand they are charging him with a rape that took place between 2 and 10 March. So the question is did he hold her somewhere? Unless they can’t determine date of death.

Dirty, dirty bastard I hope he gets what he deserves in prison.

Hallyup6 · 08/06/2021 11:23

Absolutely agree with @June2021. Don't tar all men with the same brush. The majority are perfectly respectful individuals. Women are just as capable of committing sick crimes if they're that way inclined. It's nothing to do with him being a man and everything to do with his warped mentality.

CurbsideProphet · 08/06/2021 11:33

Please let's not muddy the thread with NAMALT.

It's a terrifying crime. A serving Police Officer had the mentality to do such terrible things. Unbearable for Sarah's family, friends, colleagues. Awful for the rest of us to read about. Chilling really.

Zzelda · 08/06/2021 11:45

Sorry misread the news - admits raping and kidnapping but not killing...so it was a coincidence he kidnapped and raped her and somebody else killed her?

No, the issue seems likely to be whether this was manslaughter or murder.

MimiSunshine · 08/06/2021 12:18

He wasn’t asked to enter a plea re: her death.

So he’s not saying he didn’t murder her (yet), he just wasn’t asked in court if he did.

DadsTrilby · 08/06/2021 12:23

Can anyone shed any light on why he’s been charged with offences on 2 March but she wasn’t kidnapped until 3 March?

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 08/06/2021 12:37

It's everything to do with him being a man. What percentage of these crimes are perpetrated by women? Yes there are a few (Rosemary West/Myra Hindley) but men were involved in their crimes too. How many female serial killers/sex offenders are there - especially females acting alone?

How many women, walking home late at night and alone, would feel alarm or threatened by a woman following them?

So she was alive for a few days then. How awful. Sickening.

Completely disagree. The overwhelming majority of violent crimes and ALL rapes are committed by men. It’s everything to do with him being a man Confused
Letsgetreadytocrumble · 08/06/2021 12:44

Surely he can't go for diminished responsibility for psychological reasons if he was (presumably) deemed mentally well enough to pass police training?

NinaMimi · 08/06/2021 12:45

I hope he gets done for murder and not man slaughter. Although I think the sentences for man slaughter should be much higher as there are some horrific crimes which fall under that. You get cases where they get manslaughter as they didn’t intend to kill but had such disregard for someone’s life and such lack of empathy.

I thought the other offences were to do with indecent exposure in a fast food chain the day before. But I might be wrong..
covetingthepreciousthings · 08/06/2021 12:46

Can someone with more legal knowledge tell me, if he pleads guilty to murder or
Manslaughter in July at the next plead date - does that mean there won't be a trial at all and it will just be a sentence hearing next?

Yes I've just posted about this on the other thread. I hope the police are looking at their assessment procedures.
mrscoxaools · 08/06/2021 13:19

Please god he isn't going to do the whole 'it was a sex-game that went wrong' defence to murder - I assume you can still use that defence when it's rape?

Hopefully he will kill himself and spare the family (hers and his) the pain of a trial

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 08/06/2021 13:27

mrscox

I’m afraid that thought crossed my mind.

All some sort of kidnap/rape fantasy that’s went wrong. Because he didn’t have a happy childhood sort of shit.

That poor woman. Her poor family.

That entitled sorry excuse of a man.

He needs to spare her family. They’ve suffered enough.

WinnieTheW0rm · 08/06/2021 14:01

The potential maximum penalty for manslaughter is life imprisonment,
the same as for murder, so he won't necessarily get a lighter sentence.

It'll all hinge on his intent, and his mental capacity at that time is not art of that

NiceGerbil · 08/06/2021 14:07

I think it's really important on this thread that we all discuss how lovely men are.

Hmm

MimiSunshine · 08/06/2021 15:26

@Smallredclip

No that’s unlikely (but not impossible). More likely that the deterioration of her body means that date / time of death is approximate
WinnieTheW0rm · 08/06/2021 15:36

He also pleaded guilty to a second charge of rape between 2 and 10 March

Can anyone explain what might be behind this?

Sarah went missing on 3rd, so the dates don't make sense.

There were reports of him being arrested for indecent exposure (at a restaurant, possibly a drive through McDonald's) shortly before 3rd, and that incident was referred to IOPC. I don't remember any reports of him being arrested for another rape, and I don't see why the date would not be known. I'm not inviting speculation, just wondering if anyone recalls any reputable reporting that covers this offence.

KaptainKaveman · 08/06/2021 15:39

@Kitchentop

I also feel for his wife and small children Imagine growing up knowing what your dad is capable of...
Absolutely. He has destroyed so many lives Sad
KaptainKaveman · 08/06/2021 15:42

Ian Huntley said he killed Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman 'accidentally' didn't he? still got convicted of their murder though, thankfully.

It may sound awful and brutal but he will definitely get what's coming to him once he's in prison. I don't look on that as a 'good' thing, but I'm not going to condemn it either.
