Am I to old for a nose piercing?!

33 (tomorrow) and always wanted a small silver hoop in my nose but kept getting put off by people telling me it was tacky or I’m to old.

I’m a bit “fuck it” right now but I would like some honest opinions before I “fuck it and put a hole in my face

I really want one I'm 47 though, not sure if I'm brave enough

Nearly 50, had nose pierced when 22 and wear a small stud always. No such thing as too old!

I got mine done just before Xmas and I love it!

I had my done originally when I was 17 and after a loooong break of not wearing it because of my job, re-pierced it last year. Love it!

I was about 35 when I had my pierced after years of wanting it done. I wore a tiny stud for ages then switched to a small hoop about 2yrs ago. Am now nearly 42.

I love it.

I loved mine but I have it done with a gun and it never healed. Had to take it out when I got pregnant as it kept getting infected.

I'm 45 and got one a few weeks ago. Did it myself with a nose piercer from amazon which was absolutely brilliant. I've got a few piercings and this has been the least problematic by far. Age is just number, if you like it then go for it. It can easily be taken out if you don't like it

Is it a statement to have a nose ring? A fashion? A fingers up? A 'I'm trying' to be different? Loot at me I'm not too old to show X Y or Z? I really don't get why people want it. Does it get in the way of blowing your nose?

But your nose so it's really personal choice to do with your nose what you want - have several rings, what does it matter?

You could say the same about anything surely - jewellery, clothes choices, ear piercing, hairstyles... Not sure why it is anymore difficult to understand than, say, wearing beads around your neck in a necklace. It is just something that looks nice to some people

In answer to the original question, you're not too old! If you want to do it, do it, and don't worry about what anyone else thinks

I had my nose pierced at 13, still wear a nose ring at 41, I'm intending to keep it for life haha

I had my nose pierced for my 40th birthday. I'm at an age now where I don't give a hoot if people approve. My DH likes it and that's all that matters to me!

No not at all but get it done with a needle at proper piercing place and not a gun.

I’m still traumatised seeing my 18 year old friend getting it done with a gun and ending up with a tear rather than a hole

I'm nearly 31, still got my nose ring in from when I was 14. Had a massive tattoo I wanted on my arm for ages last week and I'm having my hair dreaded next Friday! I can't wait. You're not too old for anything if you want it!

In the nicest possible way you seriously need to change your mindset. You are young enough to do absolutely everything you want to. Don't let age define you, even when you are 80.

@Oopsy41 if you don't mind me asking, was it easy and straightforward with the Amazon piercer; if so,which one did you use? Did you get your nose ring/stud off Amazon too?

I had mine done a couple of months ago at 42.

Love it and most people thought I'd always had it done!

I searched up those Amazon piercing kits .
I wouldn't fancy doing my own nostril with it , basically its a sterilsed single use gun.

You really do need a needle for a precision, clean puncture . a gun forces a metal sharp through your skin causing localised trauma .

My DD is not good with needles (understatement) but she found needle piercing no problem .The worst bit was fastening the jewellry .

3 friends in work all used the Amazon guns and all 3 have swelling around the hole.
I use them to pierce my ears but don't fancy trying to position it right for a nose piercing.

Please don't pierce your nose using a kit you bought off Amazon. Find your local piercing studio and pay £30 for a professional to do it.

Your shnozz will thank you.

I'm older than you and got more ear piercings last year (now have 4 in each ear as I wanted more for the cute stacking sets)

And getting a new tattoo in 2 weeks. In a place not covered my clothing most of the time!!! A first for me! (So far have a teenage tramp stamp and an early 20s hip tattoo which isn't in the best condition anymore after 3 pregnancies!)

It's your body. Do what feels good.

I still get lots of black heads on my nose so don't want to draw attention to it.

But I have friends with silver nose rings and think they look super cute. And even if I didn't who am I to decide what's on someone else's nose?!

Just booked redoing of nose and belly button I want Tardis blue jewellery being done at out local tattooist. I’d never have gun near my nose or belly button. They should be banned.
