I just spent 25 mins stirring a risotto and Fitbit thought I'd walked 3 miles.

Stupid Fitbit. Behave yourself.

Crochet is great for getting those steps in too

Crochet doesn't give me any steps at all.

Mine thinks I go for a bike ride every day, it's only when I checked the time it's logged that I realised it's when I'm driving home. I don't think I drive like I'm pedaling a bike...

If I have a courtesy car from the garage my Fitbit decides I'm riding a bike, it never happens in my own car.

I changed the bedsheets the other day and my Fitbit told me I'd done an 11 minute aerobic workout.

I think that's probably accurate, changing bedsheets is hard work!

@itssquidstella

To be fair that is an aerobic workout for me, albeit a short one.

Thankfully my husband takes pity on how ridiculously hard I find it and mostly changes the beds.

This title made me laugh ! Thank you !

Hallyup6 · 08/06/2021 10:58

Awesome. Get yourself a chocolate bar as a reward.

purplesequins · 08/06/2021 20:05

lucky you
my smartwatch doesn't register cycling (admittedly slow city pace) as exercise.
the bastard.

Iceybirb · 08/06/2021 20:18

Love this thread Grin I'm off to make a risotto.

Fitbit has a lot to answer for.

TheDoctorDances · 08/06/2021 20:35

That episode of Line of Duty where Ryan and Kate were pointing guns at each other - my Fitbit thought I’d been running as my heart rate was so high.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 08/06/2021 20:35

Dh on his motorbike managed a ridiculous number of steps Grin

howrudeforme · 08/06/2021 20:37

Yup and that’s why I hate making risotto. It’s a bit of rice and shouldn’t take that much effort.😊

Greenandcabbagelooking · 08/06/2021 20:40

I've had a really crap day, and this thread has properly made me chuckle. Thank you OP and everyone else who has shared non-exercise ways of upping your fitbit steps.

LucysSkyDiamonds · 08/06/2021 20:47

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

I put mine in the tumble dryer whilst I lie on the sofa and eat a BIG back of crisps. .. and technically I've lost six stone.
For a second I thought "that's a fuck of a mess to clean up, just to avoid the stirring ".
fairynick · 08/06/2021 21:06

Is this why whenever there’s a “how many steps do you do in a day?” thread the average answer is about 20,000 😂 a kid of middle class mums smugly kissing their fitbits

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 08/06/2021 21:51

Apparently I did more steps hanging out the washing than walking around a large supermarket.
