Picked up a chicken yesterday (dead not alive), and suddenly thought how undignified it looked without it having the string tying its legs together

I mean...it’s a dead chicken. Not really dignified anyway but having its legs like that is just the cherry on the top for the poor chook

Oysters - there are seafood tanks in the floors of the Neolithic house remains at Skara Brae on the Orkneys, so they think they were raising oysters and cockles and so on, in the nearest thing to a home 'fridge' once they were harvested.
That's pretty cool but again, did someone drop one and think ooh that looks tasty?? Did they watch another creature open one and copy or have we been eating them since before we were human (no idea how long they've been around)

Oystercatchers? See how a curved beaky object can open them, and down a grey snotty bit of protein?
I guess protein was protein, and they don't run away or need cooking!
