AZ vaccine 2 done....so worried as was ill for 5 days with first. Anyone had their second after being ill with first?

AZ 1st vaccine I was quite ill throbbing arm, hot, shivery, headache, sleepy lasted 5 days.

So worried about 2nd Ive had done today

I was ill after my second- headache, fever, chills, groggy feeling, sickness, diarrhoea, the lot. After my second one I felt a bit tired for a day or two and that was it.

I was quite unwell for a few days after my first AZ so I was almost dreading the second dose. But second time around I had absolutely no symptoms at all, hopefully you'll be lucky too.

I felt ill after my first AZ. Tired, shivery. Also had sore, red, lumpy swollen arm which lasted for best part of 4 weeks. 2nd dose no side effects at all! Had it almost 2 weeks ago and felt perfectly fine, arm was fine. All good!

This is reassuring for me thank you above posters - I have my second one tomorrow and am anxious because I was really rough for 3 days after the first, the usual stuff - headache, palpitations, couldn't sleep, foggy head.

Really ill for the first dose - chills, nausea, dizziness, generally feeling dog rough for about a week. Second dose I had the chills that evening and was dizzy, achy and dog rough for a day or two but a lot shorter than the first one.

Just a sore arm second time round after flu symptoms, headache, exhaustion etc first time round. Smile

Same here; rough for a couple of days after the first one, no effects at all from the second.

DH and I the same: both more ill with AZ jab than we were with Covid! DH had temp of 40, sweating and chills, sore arm for weeks. I felt very fluey, shattered and came up in a rash, which my primary class delighted in telling me ‘is getting worse Miss’ 🙄😁

I was ill with first AZ dose, fever and chills, the lot. Took about 3 or 4 days to feel more normal. I was worried but after the second i had just a slight headache, 2 paracetamol later i was fine.

I was really ill after my first. Basically slept on the sofa for hours. Couldn’t stand to cook. Just felt terrible.
After my second I had zero side effects. Not even a sore arm! Good luck OP.

Felt awful after first one.
Felt nothing at all after second one!
Was really relieved.

I was so poorly after the first AZ dose but absolutely fine with the second. Hopefully you’ll be ok.

I was ill fora day after the 1st jab but perfectly fine after the second.

My parents and older sister all had AZ and were quite ill after there first dose.

All were absolutely fine with their second dose.

Very very tired and incredibly sore arm first jab. Absolutely nothing at all second jab - forgot I’d had it.

I was quite rough with flu like symptoms for a few days after the first dose. It wasn't unexpected as I'd had Covid in January and my first vaccination in March.

I had my second jab last week and apart from a very very mild headache for half a day I had absolutely no side effects at all. Smile

This is scary I have never heard of a vaccine having such strong side effects before ! Hope your second dose goes well op.

I am a healthy 35 year old nhs worker. I had my first Astra and I was bedbound for 4 days, worst I've ever felt and I've had swine flu back in 2010 so believe me I know when bad is bad.
Second dose I was literally pinned down by a colleague to have because I was absolutely irrationally dreading it. I had written the whole bank holiday weekend off, arranged childcare so I could just do a repeat of the first. And.....

Nothing. Not even a headache or a sore arm. I was alarmist disappointed when I woke up 12 hours after the jab and felt normal. Had to actually adult that weekend after all!

I was bad for 3 days with 1st one, zero side effects with 2nd one

Well after having had Covid I can categorically say the actual Covid illness is a hell of a lot worse and worrying then the vaccine side effects. I'd rather have a dozen vaccinations than go through the actual virus again.

Same as several others, bloody awful after first AZ, bad for about five days. Second dose last week, no symptoms at all, not even vaguely sore arm.

Yup. Had an horrible time with the first one. Second one I had a bruise on my arm for a couple of days but nothing else.

I was unwell for a couple of days after my first and the injection site was swollen, bruised and itchy for a couple of weeks.
After my second I had a very mild barely there headache the following day and a sore arm for a couple of days.
