Was ill after first. Absolutely nothing after second

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/06/2021 19:45

He my second one yesterday. AZ. Same symptoms as first time. Felt round as last night and today. Slowly starting to feel better

Knotswapper · 02/06/2021 19:47

I was fine after both (AZ), no symptoms at all. The nurse at the vaccination centre looked surprised when I told her I was fine after the first so I'm wondering if I've been particularly lucky with this.

I felt dreadful for days after my first, no reaction and absolutely fine after the second. Hope you are the same!

Lordamighty · 02/06/2021 19:59

Ill after the first, absolutely nothing after the second, not even a sore arm.

tukanada · 02/06/2021 20:00

Hubby felt awful after first. Not even a sore arm with his second

BobbinThreadbare123 · 02/06/2021 20:07

Yep, felt shocking for a week or so after jab 1 but it was only a few days after jab 2. I have Crohn's disease so I have a compromised immune system. Much rather deal with the vaccine effects than th covid!

mineofuselessinformation · 02/06/2021 20:12

All experience at my end (both dc and DM, I'm yet to have my second), is that effects are minimal to nothing.
For context, I felt terrible and managed three days at work after my first, but had to spend the Saturday in bed. DC2 was very poorly from about six hours after first (high temp, hands and feet like ice, cried the morning after as even their face hurt), but just had a bit of a sore arm from the second.
My thinking is that your immune response has been stimulated from the first dose, and just gets boosted by the second (I'm not an immunologist)!

AGirlsGotToDo · 02/06/2021 20:20

I was unwell after my first, high temperature, nausea etc.

The second one I was absolutely fine. You will be too. Smile

APJ1 · 02/06/2021 20:46

Like others, I was unwell after the first one (cold, achey...) for a couple of days but, aside from a sore arm, thankfully totally fine after the second.

DinosApple · 02/06/2021 20:50

I was exactly the same OP, even down to 5 days. Second dose I felt a wee bit tired and that was it. It was fabulous!

Hope you are the same Flowers.

After my first AZ I was fine until the evening, then wiped out, hot and cold shivers overnight. Next day I felt like I was hungover, but without the nausea and dread. Kept awake by an annoying leg muscle twitch on the 3rd night, then ok.

2nd does: identical symptoms on the first evening, went through 3 nightdresses that night and had to change the sheets the next morning, and that was it, I've been fine since.

I was an early adopter of COVID-19, and it was vile, I was sick for weeks and my lungs didn't feel 100% for 6 months afterwards. Anything to reduce my risk of catching it again, and I'm there in a sleeveless summer dress, come rain come shine!

YouLookSoCool · 02/06/2021 22:30

I felt completely AWFUL for days after the first one, excruciating pounding headache, severe fatigue, aching all over, very painful arm for a week, all exacerbated by the fact that I have ME, and have fairly similar symptoms when I'm having a flare up anyway.

After the second vaccine - very slightly sore arm for a few hours and that was it. So fingers crossed you'll be ok!

WhatsappRicky · 02/06/2021 22:48

I felt deathly ill after my first, shaking, fever, aching all over, headache etc. Sore arm for DAYS to the point I couldn’t drive and I was exhausted and basically slept for 3 days.

Had my second last week. Didn’t have a single side effect!

kittycrackles · 02/06/2021 22:57

I had a horrible time after my first: fever, convulsions- like electric shocks, unable to walk for 2 days, unable to use arm for days, rash, itching. It was utterly miserable. I am terrified of having my second, but hopefully I will be as lucky as most posters on here. I have been putting it off as I do not want to go through that again.

phodopus · 03/06/2021 00:56

Apparently people generally have worse symptoms with the first AZ than the second. So hopefully you're over the worst already. Smile. With Pfizer it's the other way round.

JustACosmicGirl · 03/06/2021 01:16

I was really bad after my 1st AZ, had severe joint pain for a week but with my 2nd one I.had no side affects, even my arm didn't hurt for as long.

Auntienumber8 · 03/06/2021 01:20

Ached horribly and extreme fatigue after first jab and had a really sore arm, slept for hours and felt grim for 3 days. Just had second yesterday, arm slightly tender and a little tired and achey but really not bad at all.

FictionalCharacter · 03/06/2021 01:43

Felt unwell for 36 hours after 1st one, chills, aches, dizzy, very uncomfortable. Had 2nd a few days ago and all I’ve had is a slightly sore arm, nothing else at all!

SophieB100 · 03/06/2021 14:29

Had my second at 9.30 this morning! Yay!!! So happy.

The nurse said that if I have side effects this time, they should be far less severe than before. Also said what others have said - with AZ side effects are usual with first, minor with second. With the other jabs - the other way round.

My DD is an ICU nurse - she said (what an earlier poster said reminded me) that the second one is boosting the first - so your body recognises it this time around, and doesn't react as severely.

Good luck everyone.

StandardPoodle · 03/06/2021 17:00

I was quite unwell for a good 24 hours after the first AZ jab (flu symptoms) but just felt a little tired after the second one, to my relief!

GloomyWaters · 04/06/2021 16:23

Woke up today after 2nd vaccine on Wedn with sore neck/head. At first I thought Ive slept funny on it. But more and more today back of head at the bottom of scalp really hurts....I know its all connected to yr neck but Im wondering if it's vaccine related as head in that one area really aches

Before anyone thinks about having the vaccine or getting their children to have it (unnecessary) perhaps read this americasfrontlinedoctors.org/frontlinenews/serious-violations-and-manipulations-of-trial-protocol-how-pfizer-obtained-fda-emergency-authorization-for-children/

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 21/06/2021 07:06

All I had after the first AZ was extremely flu-like shivers and shakes that first night - sent me to bed very early.
Nothing after the 2nd.

TBH I was glad in a way of the shivers and shakes - they meant that the vaccine was doing something!

Dh had nothing after either.
