Any ideas - what have I done with my running kit?

You lot are good at this so here's what I thought I did:

Sat pm: put new capris bright pink running top in pile on landing to wash.
Sun am: ds2 still not added his coloured stuff so go and get it from his room, gather up pile, put in washer. Go out so ask DC to hang it in line when done. Come home, collect in wash, sort, put away.
Mon am: cannot find running capris. Nor, as I realise, pink top. Do not recall unpegging either. Dd does not recall pegging out pink top (black capris harder to remember). Did I in fact not wash them at all? If not, where are they?

Here's where I have looked:
running kit drawer
wash basket
ironing basket
ds2 wash basket
DH wash basket
every room

Any ideas wtf I have done with them? It's so annoying! TIA

Have you washed anything since? Are they stuck to the top of the washing machine drum or something?

Aprilwasverywet · 01/06/2021 09:33

It's ran off?!

BogRollBOGOF · 01/06/2021 13:09

Always worth a double check of the fridge Grin

Have they been put in DS's drawers?

JudgeRindersMinder · 01/06/2021 13:34

If you find it could you please check and see if my specs are there?
They’ve been AWOL for 2
Weeks now and my spares are so uncomfortable

RumJerrySailorRum · 01/06/2021 13:44

Have you got a dog?

With the towels in the airing cupboard?

Still in the machine

Some one in the family hates them and has thrown them away.

DownWhichOfLate · 01/06/2021 14:01

Still in the bag from when you bought them. You remember thinking to put them on the pile rather than actually doing so.

OccultGnuAsWell · 01/06/2021 14:14

Did they climb inside another item of clothing during the wash cycle?

I speak as a person who's found - post wash - knickers down the legs of jeans, a sock in the sleeve of a blouse and the entire washing load curled up inside the duvet cover.

clary · 01/06/2021 15:01

Ooh some good ideas here. I have looked in the ironing basket but not shaken out each thing... And dd did peg out in a, hurry, she says.

No dog and they weren't in a bag, I was wearing them! Think I took them off...

Will look for anyone else's missing items later. Thanks

Are you still wearing them??

megletthesecond · 01/06/2021 16:37

Car?

DeepestBlues · 01/06/2021 16:46

Dropped out of washing basket on way to the washing line or when being hung out?

Aprilwasverywet · 01/06/2021 16:50

Sure I have just seen a cocker spaniel in pink Lycra down my way...

Redcrayons · 01/06/2021 17:41

You can’t have too many running clothes. It’s a sign, buy more.

megletthesecond · 01/06/2021 17:45

Hidden under the duvet because you needed to make a video call?

ApolloandDaphne · 01/06/2021 17:49

You put them to one side as you were worried the colour would bleed and ruin the other clothes in the wash? They are still in the washing basket.

Sauvignonblanket · 01/06/2021 17:51

Stuck to the inside ofthe washing machine still?

lljkk · 01/06/2021 18:12

Cat sicked on it & no one is brave enough to tell you?

My only formula is to start tidying whole rest of the house. All sorts of misplaced things usually emerge.

I Feel your pain about missing running kit.

Muchmorethan · 01/06/2021 18:19

Gym bag, recycling bag storage, did u shower anywhere and left them there...

americanBD · 01/06/2021 18:20

Inside a duvet cover

So true!

I think my entire mid-life crisis has been wrapped in lycra

I'm minus a pair of really bright leggings (theory, one of the DC hates them so much they've hidden them) and my first ever race Tshirt. Do you think they can move through wormholes in space?

Love this. I will have to buy the capris again as they are really nice. Then I will have two pairs. But the top is a bit sad, it's from a 10k six years ago.

Not in the washing machine or the laundry basket; I checked the duvet cover too and nope. even looked outside to see if they were dropped en route but no.

No dogs or cats here. Definitely not still wearing them Grin. It's a mystery! @AuntieStella you're right, they have gone through a wormhole!

You've sorted them in someone else's clothes pile and they've put them away. Does your daughter wear black leggings? Check wherever she keeps those. Not sure if this works with the pink too though...

Sockbogies · 01/06/2021 21:59

Dressing gown pocket. I always stuff bits in the pockets to transport them around the house and then forget to take them out.

clary · 01/06/2021 22:07

No one puts clothes away in this house apart from me! I have asked and all deny having them :( it's very odd. I have looked in their piles of clothes as well and the pink top would be hard to hide!

Was missing an item of clothing for eons. Eventually worked out that DH thought my once worn size 8 jeans were belong to DS who put them on, decided they didn't fit and subsequently put them in the charity pile which duly went to charity shop.
Try the charity bag🤣
