Swim robe / dressing gown with cat design? Does it exist?!

DD is obsessed with cats. She starts back at swimming lessons next week (wohoo!) and I need a towelling dressing gown, or a swim poncho / swim robe for her, as they can't get changed in the pool yet.

DD has asked for one with a cat on. Sure, I said, I didn't think it'd be that hard! But cats aren't in, it would appear. Unicorns, sloths, pugs, yes. Cats? No.

Can anyone help? A cat design would be great, or a cat ears - or as a back up, leopard print maybe.

She's tall for her age, she fits size 10-11 clothes - but she's only 8, so still likes designs for kids.

Does anyone have any tips on where to look? Thanks :)

(It need to be in the UK so I can get it delivered in time. There are a bunch on Amazon but they're from China).

Ha! I just saw this thread a d was going to link the Deacathlon one! Not quite sure it was be long enough. DDis in 10-11 clothes and she is 147 cm.

Good luck going forward with clothes shopping though. Both my dc are2 or 3 years taller than than their age in clothes, and it is tricky finding clothes that are appropriate.

They are quite long but yes does depend on height.

My 9 year old is 135cm and she has good coverage even though she is at the top end of the suggested range.

They are quite long, my DD wore hers on the beach yesterday and was decently covered 🤣 Might not last many years but good for this season at least.

The cats are surfing though, is that an issue?

Ooh, I think we have it! She'll be at the top end of the sizing, but it's not overly pricey so if it just lasts for this summer that's fine.

Cats surfing are very much not an issue, DD loves them!

it is tricky finding clothes that are appropriate surprisingly so!

If you know anyone with a sewing machine, it would be super easy to add an extension piece round the sides and bottom of the Decathlon poncho in a contrast towelling, but it would probably only need the bottom edge just to make it longer as they are very roomy

Thanks, she'd like that - but it comes from China (I suspect), it won't be here for a few weeks and I need it for next week.

So, the Chinese haven't forgotten what cats are, what gives, UK?!

Consulting with DD on a back up plan, she says she's also like a horse, guineapig or hamster design.

I know one option is just to tell DD she just needs to have the lovely Boden one I wanted her to have (and which I have a £10 voucher I could use against) but I kinda feel that girls get sodding unicorns and all that guff shoved down their throats so much, now she's outgrown that phase (thank fuck!) I'd like to be able to buy her a cat towel is that's what she wants, it feels a bit subversive in the face of wall to wall unicorns!!

I have my own microfibre poncho with a fish on it, probably the same one you saw on Amazon, as it happens! I love it, I never use a towel when I get out of the bath now.
