Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

First day of half term here, I had a lie in & both girls are still snoring Grin. I'm just having my first cuppa, listening to all the birds outside. They're very loud today!

We have nothing much planned, other than laundry and washing up last night's pots. I might spend a couple of hours in the garden. The grass desperately needs a cut & the brambles that take over the front are creeping back.

I might fit in some crochet too. And I expect the girls will spend a fair bit of the day Minecrafting. Dd2 wants to do some experiments so we might do one of those.

Steak for tea, I think, with chips and onion rings. I'll probably have a glass or two of wine as well.

What's everyone else up to? :)

Today I'm taking the toddler and the dog for a walk with my best friend who I haven't seen in ages. It's lovely weather here.

SingingSands · 29/05/2021 09:45

I went out to a restaurant last night with my 3 best friends. Today I am attempting to pack for the family for a week in a Scotland, whilst slightly hungover. I have to take the cat to the cattery before 12pm and I'm still horizontal in bed. Happy half term everyone!

I have retired to my bed! I had my second vaccine yesterday and feel awful. DC are playing on the switch and DH, after much moaning about how lazy I am and how I never do anything with the DC, has gone out on his bike.

Had a brilliant night out last night for Meal One of DH's birthday weekend (he's more spoilt than the Queen) so a lazy morning before lunch with his dad & step mum. Relaxing afternoon after that, I think.

InThoseDiscussions · 29/05/2021 10:21

Ocado dropped off our shopping at 8.45am and since then we've been sat around drinking coffee.
DH can't go out because he's self isolating (he was 'pinged' after going to pub with an old work friend last week) so we're staying home and nervously anticipating tonight's big match - DH has been a City fan for over 45 years. Fingers crossed.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/05/2021 10:28

as per usualy - housework (in progress) and food shopping (done).

DH is back to work, DS still in bed, DD just got up.
On the list for me:
repotting some plants, a bit of learning, some exercises.
It is 14°C, windy and overcast and the things that I would enjoy are still not happening.

blaisealex · 29/05/2021 10:31

Need to do some serious housework and organising this weekend but we're also taking DS 3 to the fair this afternoon. So, looking forward to that!

PrincessMaryaBolkonskaya · 29/05/2021 10:34

It’s a strange one here. I haven’t adjusted to the fact I have a week off work so I can’t relax properly. DS1 has gone to work, DS2 has returned to bed after a mooch for food, DP is hovering around and generally irritating me. (He’s a noisy hoverer)

I’m going to pop to the supermarket for cold sore patches and a paper then try and relax.

EnglishRose1320 · 29/05/2021 10:36

Was having a lazy morning in my dressing gown, doorbell went, opened it assuming it was a parcel ( we only moved in this week, have had lots of parcels) it was our beighbour introducing himself, he was terribly apologetic to have disturbed me when I must be ill- clearly it's not the done thing around here to answer the door in your dressing gown! Whoops.
I'm going to have to get dressed and attempt some gardening soon, our new house has the most beautiful flower beds and I am as far from being green fingered as possible so it's going to be interesting.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 29/05/2021 10:38

Woke up late at 9. Started feeling ill yesterday now I'm full of cold Sad. Dd wants to go to the park as it's nice. I'm exhausted from just coming off night shifts. Will take dd to park then I have a chest xray at hospital later to find out why I have had a cough for 2 years Grin

DinosApple · 29/05/2021 10:43

Enjoying us all being home today. Hasn't happened for a long time. There's a lot of washing to catch up on too, but the sun is shining so I'm happy.

EsmeeMerlin · 29/05/2021 10:51

I have gone to Lidl this morning to stock up on snacks. We have a good few days out and picnics over half term and my children get through them.

Just chilling out having a cup of tea now and then I’ll do some housework. After lunch I am taking my children to the park. We will be there most of the afternoon and I am hoping I can enjoy my book club book while they play. Tonight we have hamburgers for dinner and I’ll try the masked dancer with ds1. Dh is at work all day although does have most of the half term off.

wendz86 · 29/05/2021 10:57

Kids have their dance classes . Me and eldest are currently at park while youngest does hers . Then have a quiet afternoon as got quite a lot planned for half term week .

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 29/05/2021 11:15

I'm working yet again. Every bloody Saturday Sad

Am about to email bosses this weekend with a request to do full time hours over three days and have every other Saturday off and want to start it from ASAP.

It's been a hard 18 months for everyone and Covid has affected my family in many different ways resulting in me deciding I need to be around for my family more inc my dad who's been diagnosed with a condition so my parents need more support now than ever.
Enjoy your bank holiday weekend everyone

cupsofcoffee · 29/05/2021 11:17

I've been to work this morning and I'm off to get my first COVID jab in a couple of hours. No other plans :)

MargaretThursday · 29/05/2021 11:22

I'm going in to work shortly. I'm going to walk in as I've got to the point where I have to admit that the lockdown weight gain isn't just my imagination. Grin

Warmhandscoldheart · 29/05/2021 11:31

👋🏻 Housework done, washing line full. Having 2nd vaccination this pm then looking forward to BBQ pork steaks with salad for dinner 😋
Hope you all have a great day 😊

Babymamaroon · 29/05/2021 11:39

Am drinking tea and nursing a wee hangover after too much wine with my best friend last night.

I've a mani/pedi in a couple of hours then friends coming over for a BBQ this afternoon.

I need to do a quick tidy of the garden seating area but can't really be bothered.

Happy Saturday everyone Smile

Rockbird · 29/05/2021 11:44

Still in bed drinking tea and catching up on Call the Midwife in peace. DD1 hasn't surfaced yet, DD2 is just lying beside me with her iPad. DH whereabouts unknown Grin. Meeting my parents for lunch in a couple of hours in an actual restaurant. A thoroughly lazy day planned.

HazeyJaneII · 29/05/2021 11:48

Having a blood transfusion!

Silkiecats · 29/05/2021 11:55

First day of half term here. DD went for a run, DH and her are currently on a walk to the vineyard. DS has fed the silkie chickens. I have done some Pamela Reif aerobics and had a milky coffee.

Thesagacontinues · 29/05/2021 12:01

I'm getting photos taken of the kids this afternoon.

DS is almost two and we didnt manage to get baby photos taken of him as I was unwell for a while, then covid came around, so I'm really looking forward to this.

It means though that we are on a schedule today to make sure DS is not tired, has been fed and is clean when we arrive for the photos Smile

Minky12 · 29/05/2021 12:10

The family and I are getting ready for a mad Bank holiday weekend, having our cousin stay over!

H1978 · 29/05/2021 12:47

Been up since 7.15am. Dh is working so make him some lunch. Was at the post office at 10.00 to post dh’s Dvla form.

Going to mum’s for lunch. Not been since Christmas so looking forward to that. No other plans as yet. Weather was glorious in the morning but a bit overcast now.

Crackbadger · 29/05/2021 12:58

Cloudy here. Been for a dog walk, now going to cut hedge in back garden.
