Does this sound like gallbladder pain?

I've had diahorrea and stomach cramps on and off for a couple of weeks, not much of an appetite as I feel nauseous.. Also it feels like a spasm in my chest (under boobs).
I have a pain between my shoulder blades and I've been getting a feeling around my body like. I'm being squeezed.
Usually I can get it to ease using buscopan and liver salts.
Today the pain is bad between my shoulder blades and it feels like something is 'stuck,' under my ribs.
TIA

It certainly describes what mine felt like. Also I couldn’t sit still with the pain. Writhing around.

MacCoffee · 29/05/2021 09:26

But I’d get checked out urgently in case as you don’t want it to rupture or get sepsis if it is GB. Plus GB symptoms are often similar to other things.

Supersimkin2 · 29/05/2021 09:27

It’s unbelievably painful - believe me, you know. Regardless, sounds like you’ve got a horrible stomach upset that needs r and r and dioralyte a plenty.

Thanks, its been complicated by the fact I have Lupus and have had Pleurisy for 5 weeks.
I now think the Pleurisy pain is away and I'm left with this. My jaw feels sore so I think I might head to A &E

I have a really high pain threshold but last night was in complete agony for a couple of hours.

QuentinBunbury · 29/05/2021 09:31

Sounds like mine was - it wS much worse at night. I had a stone wedged in my common bile duct and ended up with acute jaundice and pancreatitis before it was diagnosed because I didn't make enough fuss
So yeah, I'd be going to a and e if I was you.

Queenoftheashes · 29/05/2021 09:32

Definitely

AuntieMarys · 29/05/2021 09:33

Yes....I had it 4 weeks ago. Horrendous pain.

mybrainhertz · 29/05/2021 09:39

Gallbladder pain tends to be towards the right hand side under the ribs. If the pain is also central the pancreas might be getting inflamed as well, particularly if it's going through to the back.

milkjetmum · 29/05/2021 09:42

Yes I had jaw pain with mine during the worst flare up, good luck today. Depending on your situation you may have to wait a while for surgery - mine was v painful but not causing other complications like jaundice etc so I was on the waiting list for over a year. A fat free diet while you wait can reduce flare ups (but may not totally stop them).

paralysedbyinertia · 29/05/2021 09:45

Quite possibly, but either way, it sounds like you need to get it checked out, OP.

MargaretThursday · 29/05/2021 11:26

I think so, but get it checked. Does it get worse after certain foods?

I get on/off pain, and have done for 20 years. Occasionally it stops me sleeping, but most of the time it's fine, or just uncomfortable, perhaps a little like a stitch. I did get it checked initially, but was told not to worry unless it gets acute.
I know from others that if it gets acute I will not have any doubts that it is the time to go to A&E!

stackhead · 29/05/2021 11:28

If tha pain has been unbearable for a few nights there could be a stone stuck in the tube which needs medical attention.

Mine is never awful two nights in a row but can be 'niggly' for a while but that's relieved with a (very very!) hot water bottle and some volterol.

Cocolapew · 29/05/2021 11:35

Thanks for the replies, I'm in A&E now waiting for results.
