Just a quick question - is there anywhere I can buy these in most town centres. On holiday/Uk in 2 days and dd (who loves to swim) began a period this evening...

Or anywhere that will deliver in 24 hours- dd can’t use tampons

Not sure how quick they deliver

www.modibodi.co.uk/collections/swim

Ordered one- they don’t deliver in time unfortunately

I think primark, sainsburys and M and S now do period wear but I'm not sure if it includes swimwear.

My daughter has the modibodi swimming costume. How heavy is she likely to be in 2 days time? I think the swimming costume has lighter protection than the pants. My daughter was on day 5 of her period when she wore hers. I'm not sure how comfortable she would be wearing it on a heavy day.

Sorry that's not more helpful x

Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 21:55

Thanks she isn’t that heavy at all after the first day. But wouldn’t send her in with no protection at all iyswim.. I’m racking google and my brain trying to save this holiday for her!

Amazon prime? I searched period swimwear there and a few items came up but not sure if they're suitable. Hope you find something!

Montalbanosono · 26/05/2021 21:58

Swimming in the sea or a pool? I'm not sure they work well enough for a pool.

redpeppersoup · 26/05/2021 21:59

Would she be comfortable using a mooncup or similar if you can’t source swimwear in time? You can pick them up in Boots.

Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 22:03

Would be a pool- thought they did enough... just wishful thinking I suppose. Have tried Amazon prime but there doesn’t seem to be anything really

Ask dd if she wants to try tampon...may be a compact one or something sleek. worth a try! Hope you have a good time.

Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 22:09

She wouldn’t be able to use a moon up unfortunately either

I had never heard of this. If we were to have youngest having a period when we (eventually maybe) get to go in holiday are any of them really good?? She’s far too young for mooncup or tampon.

Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 22:12

No chance of a tampon or mooncup here. What a shame I can’t buy a costume in time

Could you get it delivered to where you are staying?

My daughter has used hers happily during swimming lessons. Looks no different to a normal costume. We are yet to test it on a heavy day but it's been fine to use on lighter days.
Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 22:16

Unfortunately not possible to have it delivered to holiday site either. Think she’s scuppered! What a shame!

Could you try period pants under a costume? I think these are more widely available on the high street than the costumes.
Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 22:21

That was my thought but would they just leak in water... I don’t think I’d try it with her, would be awful if just leaked everywhere...

I bought the Modibodi bikini bottoms about a week ago and they did actually arrive about 2 days later, even though it originally said about a week.

You might be lucky and have them arrive in time.

Alakazam8 · 26/05/2021 22:27

Thanks- I will contact them in the morning to see if there is anything they can do, maybe I could pay extra postage??

Pinotwoman82 · 26/05/2021 22:28

What about next? You can normally collect in fairy quick time

Haventhadaneggsinceeaster · 26/05/2021 22:30

I also had very quick delivery on a modibodi swimsuit just last week- it came in a couple of days so you may still be lucky.

SisterMonicaJoansHabit · 26/05/2021 22:37

Happened to me on our only ever holiday abroad. My mum put pantyliners in the gusset. Did the trick.

SavannahLands · 26/05/2021 22:44

Tena used to make swim liners which were quite thin and discreet, maybe the mini size used as a pant liner under the swimsuit may give enough protection for a quick swim in the pool?

OwlTwitterings · 26/05/2021 22:46

The airport might sell something suitable. Otherwise period pants under a bikini or swimming costume should still work.
