Seems to be pretty much 9 until 3 here, with an hour for lunch.

8.30-4.30 with an hour for lunch. If something is "on", I'll leave my phone on til my boss finishes at 5.30, but that's about 5 days a quarter

MerryGoRoundBrain · 25/05/2021 21:35

I do full time hours over 4 days, plenty of meetings to attend, these are usually crammed in between 10-3. Other than that, I can be entirely flexible, I tend to do a couple of hours before school drop off and aim to be finished at 4 at the latest.

DailyMaui · 25/05/2021 21:36

At the moment about 90% of my work is from home as so much is remote now.

As long as the work is done everyone is happy and no one keeps tabs on the hours I do. I'm very productive. But it isn't really office based (I work in TV) and some weeks are lighter than others. When I'm filming or have a big project then I work all and any hours necessary, and they will be way over my contracted hours. Today I worked from 0800 to 2130, tomorrow will be a long day and last week I had two very long days of over 14/15 hours. But I will take my hours back in some way when it is quieter.

I tend to start early so 7 or 8 at the latest and work until 4 sometimes a little later. I have lunch but not a break as I eat at my desk. So its about the same as the office. We are very lucky that we can flex.

Hoppinggreen · 25/05/2021 21:38

Supposed to be 9-2 or 9-12 and 7-9 if dealing with The US, but it’s a lot more. Nobody makes me but I find it hard to switch off

InTheNightWeWillWish · 25/05/2021 21:39

We have flexible working (8-10am start, 4-6pm finish) but I try to work 8-4 which would have been my hours in the office. I knew I had an evening meeting today so my plan was to do 9-4, 7-8 but I ended up doing 9-5, 6.30-8. So at some point when it’s a bit quieter, I’ll finish half an hour earlier a couple of times or start half an hour later.

SinkGirl · 25/05/2021 21:41

DH has always worked from home - many days like today he works 9am - 7pm and he’s now back at working. Other days he will do errands / go to appointments during the day, take us to hospital appointments etc.

I only work about 7 hours a week for my job which I do whenever there are meetings or things that need doing (plus usually about 5 more a week). And I have my own business and I work pretty much non stop on stuff for that - today I was making a paper cut all morning, meeting most of the afternoon, took care of the kids after school then went to working on a crochet pattern. Tomorrow I’ve got tons of stuff to do before half term - can’t make tutorial videos with Tasmanian devil twins about and their half term is two weeks.

We are really lucky we have such flexible jobs because we wouldn’t manage with rigid 9-5s

notacooldad · 25/05/2021 21:47

It varies.
I work 37 hours a week but our services is open 7 days a week.one day we take it in turns to be in on a 12/11pm and the next day 7/12noon. The rest of the time you make your own hours up. Most of
The team like to do 10 hour days to get 3 days off in the week. No lunch hours are deducted. We can start when we need to but have to factor in meetings training and face to face work. Sometimes I like to do split shifts so I start in the morning, break off and go to the gym or meet friends etc while its quiet and finish work off late afternoon.
It works well.

Iwantmybed · 25/05/2021 21:50

Honestly I'm not that busy. I was never very busy at the office and I've gone from 3 days to FT so I have even less to do.
I get up as late as possible and I'm always at my desk, computer on at 9am. I do everything throughout the day. I do an exercise class around 11ish and sometimes work through lunch but if I'm very quiet , I'll take the time to catch up on home chores.

Tanfastic · 25/05/2021 21:53

The same as I do when I'm in the office so 9-5 with a 30 minute lunch if I'm lucky.

sHREDDIES19 · 25/05/2021 22:02

Wow some of these hours are unreal! I do hope those of you working so many hours are getting paid generously for it. I’m contracted to do 37.5 hours a week very flexibly, above average wage but nothing to get excited about. But I’m not motivated by money and working all hours, I like free time too much.

greatauntfanny · 25/05/2021 22:03

I make sure I'm online and 'available' between 9 and 5, but in terms of ^^actual work some days I'll do 1 hour and others I'll do 16. Lots of fluctuation and a dependency on external sources directing the workflow. It probably works out about average.

FuckyouCovid21 · 25/05/2021 22:06

8.00-17.30 with an hour for lunch

MeadowHay · 25/05/2021 22:08

The same as in the office, 9-5.30 with 1hr unpaid lunch break.

DelilahTheParrot · 25/05/2021 22:10

9-3 without a lunch break, but I tend to do 4 days like that rather than the 3 Im contracted

DelilahTheParrot · 25/05/2021 22:12

Often an hour in evening too.. so I’m working 15-30% over contracted hours

Figgygal · 25/05/2021 22:16

Surely your hours are based on your contractual hours?
I’m contracted 30 a week but do a 9-3 one day so roughly 8.30-5.30 the others with a 45 min lunch to walk the dog

Saying that I did an extra hour last night, last year I was working 11 hour days, at weekend and fell into really bad habits

felulageller · 25/05/2021 22:18

I'm contracted to do 35 hours. We had full flexitime before covid so could start from 8-10 and finish 4-7 but had to take a min 30 in lunch.

I don't start until after the school run so do 9.30- 5.15 usually as I like a longer lunch.

User1110 · 25/05/2021 22:18

It depends.

Some days 9-5:30 with a lunch hour.

—most— other days (like today) 9-9 Sad it’s easier to work longer hours for me, as I don’t need to ‘leave’.

I do love my job though!

LouNatics · 25/05/2021 22:21

Most days I wake up and start working straight away with my first thing coffee, usually do an hour before washing and dressing and sorting the kids for school. So about 6.30-7.30am. School run. Then work 8.50am onward interspersed with housework until the second school run of the day. Then 4-6pm approx on days I don’t have to ferry the children around before cooking tea. After kids bedtime I’ll usually do another hour then I’ll usually check emails last thing at about 11.30pm before I go to sleep. At the weekends usually 3-3.30 hours a day in fits and spurts so not much. I try to do less on a Saturday.

I’ve never added up the hours.

FreeButtonBee · 25/05/2021 22:22

Today I did 8.15am to 8.45pm; 30 min lunch; 20 mins to put kids to bed. Haven’t left the house. Cooked dinner at 9. Not a normal day but close enough unfortunately.

changi · 25/05/2021 22:25

Whatever it takes. I don't have contracted hours.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 25/05/2021 22:25

07:45 - 17:30 / 18:00 on a 37 hr contract. Might have a sandwich at the desk at some point. Mondays back to back calls all day, Thursday this week same.

Mollylikestodance · 25/05/2021 22:25

9.30 - 5 with a break if I'm lucky... then often an hour or two in the evenings when the kids have gone to bed Confused

I think companies are getting a pretty good deal from home working as the lines around when to stop are very blurred....

pinkpun · 25/05/2021 22:26

07.45-20.15 call centre 2 days per week
