When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I'll start: I wanted to be the first woman train driver.

Briefly an astronaut. Mostly, a mother.

A primary school teacher just so I could always take the register, the pen markings always looked so neat and I desperately wanted a register of my own. Does that still happen or is it all computerised now? It was the highlight of my week when I was chosen to take it to the office!

A nurse. I'm a paediatric nurse.

A mum and a wife. Oh well. Got one out of three.

Now in a senior HR position...

A sweet shop owner

A comedienne! I wanted my own tv show. Now working on a till at The Range

whenI was 5 or 6 I wanted to be a librarian until I found out their job isn't just to read books all day and shush people who disturbs their peace😭

after that I never had a singular ambition. I have tried many things (inc music, performing, extreme sports), got lots of hobbies and interests, studied wildly different subjects at school/high school/uni, but still don't know what I want to be when I grow up😁 I'm 46. I'm happy being a SAHM.

I wanted to be an underwater photographer,because I though it would be great to get paid to scuba all day.
I think I thought I was going to be paid to travel the world, swim, snap a few gorgeous perfect shots of fish and coral, and it was going to be paid well enough to live off!

In reality, I alternated between being a stay at home mum, being a nanny, working as a dispatcher, call centre, artist, writer, cleaner, respite worker and currently work in a liquor store.

What I did get to do was live at the shore, (both Canadian coasts) so I get loads of beach days!

A ballerina! Gosh I still find watching the ballet so dreamy 😍

A cleaner. Which is hilarious because I hate cleaning with a passion and outsource it.
We had a really nice cleaner that I really liked and she sometimes used to bring her son with her and we'd play together so I guess I just wanted to be like her!

A librarian

Librarian here too. I grew up going to the local public library and I absolutely loved it.

Cartographer!

My son, when he was about 7, said when he grows up he wants to be a Dad.

I did tell him he should be really happy because he can be a Dad and something else, so has two things to choose!

A Firefighter but I was then too small as they had a 5Ft 6 requirement, so now I am a nurse and my younger sister is a Firefighter!!

I love scanning my own shopping at the till, i have no idea why but I just love doing it!

In order - an ice skater, a gymnast, an author, a journalist, a librarian.

I clearly watched too much tv, didn't achieve the 1st but I did the 2nd

When I was small I told people I wanted to be prime minister, my big plan was to give less money to rich people and increase family allowance for poor people - thought it was that simple 😆

As a teen I wanted to write for Smash Hits.

I am now a librarian.

When I was a little kid I always wanted to be an actor, as I got older I wanted to be a geologist.

I actually became an accountant.
