Or maybe midgets

Guess what I’m watching GrinWink

@Soubriquet

I was already tearing up once again but now Anyas speech has done it

I’m crying now. Her innocent and heartbreak in her voice just makes it hard

It's absolutely Anya's reaction that gets me in this episode!
Jocasta2018 · 30/05/2021 22:16

'Tall, Dark and Forehead' - one of Spike's best lines!

Am watching 'Bones' as I write this - David Boreanaz looks almost naked without his duster coat...

StillMedusa · 30/05/2021 23:03

My people Grin
So good to know there are still other Buffy lovers out there.
I started watching it one rainy half term when my then 12 year old introduced me to it.. it was still on tv then and she'd watched it at her best friend's
Instantly hooked, and a bit shocked by the time we got to Smashed, it was our highlight of the week. MY dd1 is nearly 30 now...and we can still both quote it endlessly when she comes home!

I think my favourite moment is at the beginning of season 6 when the real Buffy is home, but not herself and Spike comes in, sees what he thinks is the Buffybot and then realises it's HER. The look on his face....

sueelleker · 31/05/2021 08:32

@TheWitchCirce

BORED NOW!

😬

I like the bit where vampire Willow is staring at Cordelia, who says "have I got something on my neck?" and VW says "not yet".
Soubriquet · 31/05/2021 08:33

What about when Xander is adamant he is biteable and Spike reply’s with “yes. You’re a nummy treat”

Agh, the earworms from this thread! Giles: "What can't we fa a a ace, if we're together?!"

DarlingWithoutYou · 01/06/2021 19:38

I don't want this thread to die, it's given me so much joy!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 01/06/2021 20:03

Buffy threads always bring joy. Dd and I watched earshot yesterday. Sadly she has gone to her gran's for half term so no more until she is back. I just want to binge with her, so many great episodes still to come.

Yesterday reminded me how good Buffy was for interspersing the big bad storyline with unrelated stuff. Stopped it getting to angsty. It lost that a bit in later series I think. Yesterday we went from faith trying to de-soul angel to Buffy finding out about Giles shagging her mum.

honeybeetheoneandonly · 01/06/2021 21:38

How old does someone have to be before being introduced to the Buffyverse? DCs are still too young but I'm wondering at what age they'll be old enough to appreciate it.

Soubriquet · 02/06/2021 03:49

I would say probably around 12. Maybe 10 for someone who is very mature

There is a lot of adult themes in this

OP posts:
DarlingWithoutYou · 02/06/2021 11:49

12/13 definitely. It starts off fun but gets darker and darker.

Soubriquet · 02/06/2021 15:15

Just watched Spike “exercising” with an invisible Buffy Grin

Soubriquet · 02/06/2021 18:51

Now watching Anya and Xander’s wedding

Still gutted it never went ahead

OP posts:
CaptainCallisto · 02/06/2021 19:29

Me too, in spite of the hideous bridesmaid dresses

DarlingWithoutYou · 03/06/2021 14:11

I can't cope with the wedding episode, it hurts my heart!

Soubriquet · 03/06/2021 14:22

Those dresses are pretty awful. No wonder it hurts your heart Grin

Saying that, it’s not a surprise that Anya went back to vengeance

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 07/06/2021 11:20

Well that’s Buffy binged to completetion

Angel time

OP posts:
DarlingWithoutYou · 07/06/2021 12:17

I've never watched Angel but watched Buffy multiple times. Is it worth a go?

Soubriquet · 07/06/2021 12:39

It’s worth a go yes.

Not as brilliant as Buffy but it does have its moments

SarahAndQuack · 07/06/2021 13:31

Aww, now you've made me go and watch season 2 (I can't be arsed to start with season 1).

I adore Spike's little rant 'if every vampire who said he was at the Crucifixion actually was at the Crucifixion, it'd have been like Woodstock. Now, I actually was at Woodstock.'

Spike is just the best.

OTOH I find Drusilla boring as fuck and fast forward through her dull mad bits.

SarahAndQuack · 07/06/2021 13:32

(Also, it is so much fun revisiting 90s fashion. Cordelia's lip liner this season is about 10 shades darker than her skin.)

DarlingWithoutYou · 07/06/2021 14:10

I don't like Druscilla either. Second to Riley.

Soubriquet · 07/06/2021 14:16

It’s funny how people like and dislike people

I liked Drusilla, Spike, Sunday, Harmony (sometimes).

I didn’t like Riley, Darla, Angel annoyed me at times, and funnily enough so did Xander

KillerFlamingo · 07/06/2021 14:54

I listen to the album loads and hun bits in my head most days. (Think I'm a bit addicted)

Spike is my one true love and I'm not even embarrassed! Grin

KillerFlamingo · 07/06/2021 14:54

(Ok, a bit embarrassed Blush)
