What is your favourite game to take on holiday/camping/to the pub?

With holiday season looking a little different this year I'm starting to think about what to pack.

We'll be travelling around the north of England and Scotland with two kids age 7 and 9.

If the weather is poor we will probably end up in a pub or back in the hotel/caravan playing games. We've got exploding kittens and dobble so looking for similarly fun but compact games that won't get us thrown out of the pub Grin

Thanks

Quirqle, great game!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/05/2021 22:39

Top Trumps
Normal pack of cards- lots of games to try there!
Pass the Pigs
Monopoly Deal.

FizzyPink · 17/05/2021 22:39

We like Dobble, Monopoly Deal and UNO flip. Otherwise Articulate but it’s a bit big to lug around with you

AlwaysLatte · 17/05/2021 22:40

Uni was the main one at that age. Also dominoes and Dobble - there's a Harry Potter one too.

Hawkins001 · 17/05/2021 22:40

Magic the gathering card game, a game that all the family can enjoy

fluffythedragonslayer · 17/05/2021 22:42

We like all the Fluxx games, we have several versions. Goat Lords is great. We like Sushi Go but can get a bit rowdy (though no more so than Dobble 😂). Oh, and Gubs!
And Card of the Dead.
We always end up in pubs playing games on holiday too!!

Flappityflippers1 · 17/05/2021 22:44

Yahtzee!! Always loved playing this as kids on our caravan holidays.

Also a deck of playing cards, lots of games then 😄

OverByYer · 17/05/2021 22:45

Uno and Jenga

OverByYer · 17/05/2021 22:46

Top trumps

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/05/2021 22:47

How about a travel chess set?

Stichintime · 17/05/2021 22:49

Playing cards and Monipoly deal.

Mybigbed · 17/05/2021 22:51

Uno, dobble, pass the pigs, exploding kittens, top trumps, Pictionary cards

scrivette · 17/05/2021 22:58

Dobble and simple snap cards.

myhobbyisouting · 17/05/2021 22:59

Oh yes, pass the pigs added to the list.

We have monopoly deal but we couldn't get the hang of it weirdly

Uno, rummikub, playing cards.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 17/05/2021 23:02

Double, uno, pass the pigs, grab the pigs

Doughdog · 17/05/2021 23:05

Cockroach poker is fun. And flipover frog. I have children the same age.

Katieweasel · 17/05/2021 23:06

Left Right Centre. It's a dice game. No skill involved so great for all ages. In a small tube so takes up no room. Banagrams once they got older.

myhobbyisouting · 17/05/2021 23:14

Browsing amazon and noticed Linkee is down from around £25 to £10 if anyone wants to stock up their Christmas presents!

The goat game looks good

Shut The Box is a really popular game in the pub, and also a game I play with dc.

RoseMartha · 17/05/2021 23:42

Beetle
all you need is a dice and pens and paper. Make sure you all know what number is which parts of the body. Maybe do a diagram so everyone can see it.

Divineswirls · 17/05/2021 23:52

Yahtzee, but it probably will get you thrown out of the pub when you shout Yahtzee at the top of you voice, whoop and run around the pub a few times Grin failing that UNO.

Pearbear · 17/05/2021 23:59

Qwirkle has a travel version also 5 second rule is good fun
