My DH is a Liverpool fan whose fallen out of love with football. I support a different team but you’ve got to enjoy a goal like that especially after the year Alisson has had!

andtheweedonkey · 16/05/2021 18:36

Me too. Grin

ihearttc · 16/05/2021 18:36

DS just screamed! What an amazing goal! He isn’t a LFC fan but he even he can appreciate the brilliant ness of that!

Stygimoloch · 16/05/2021 18:36

Yes! Loved it!

Mowzy · 16/05/2021 18:36

I was! That was mental. Nice big cuddle from Kloppy.

ladygracie · 16/05/2021 18:37

My son shouted so loudly he made me jump. We are on different floors. What a brilliant goal!

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2021 18:37

I can't understand how I watched years and years of junior footy where both DSs were goalkeepers and yet I didn't know they were allowed all the way down the other end. Blush

DS2 scored from the half way line once.

No, is your family or DHs from Merseyside?

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2021 18:55

@newnortherner111

No, is your family or DHs from Merseyside?
No and no but they are LFC supporters. Does this make a difference? Confused

No DH missed it as friends were visiting in the garden!

PS we’re not in Merseyside either so are we allowed to support Liverpool? 😂 they are tied with the Manchester teams for our nearest premier league team though.

Quirrelsotherface · 16/05/2021 18:59

You can never write Liverpool off..literally something magical always happens!

Roominmyhouse · 16/05/2021 18:59

@Sparklingbrook no I agree it doesn’t make a difference unless you are a twat 😆

VioletCharlotte · 16/05/2021 19:00

DS shouted so loudly, me and the dog jumped (dog nearly fell off the sofa!)

EastofEdna · 16/05/2021 19:01

The post match interview with Alisson was very emotional. The final games of the season will be nail biting!!

Iknowtheanswer · 16/05/2021 19:02

Not a Liverpool fan, but I had it on the radio and nearly dropped the dinner Grin

Albern · 16/05/2021 19:03

My ds shouted with excitement as well and you could hear the boy next door shout at the same time. Brilliant goal, we enjoyed it here in Somerset!

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2021 19:03

It's nice to see the men in my household so animated. Grin DS1 had to be facetimed and everything and he never usually answers a call. Grin

Somerset? You don't live in Merseyside either? Shock

@LadyCatStark you support a local team though. Though at least some Liverpool supporters have a connection to the area. The only time I ever went (as a visiting supporter) to a Manchester United game (well the only time we've ever played there, team now in the National League), the only local accents I heard were the catering staff and stewards.

FredaFox · 16/05/2021 19:06

What a goal, the emotion in his face after. Brilliant

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2021 19:07

I have done the Anfield Stadium tour. Twice. I am practically Liverpudlian TBF.

I'm an absolute wreck after that. Had given up hope. Then choked up in joy and disbelief.
(No I am not in Merseyside either 😂 - but supported LFC since the 80s)

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2021 19:11

Considering Alisson is Brazilian presumably he shouldn't be allowed to play for Liverpool, he should play for a local team for local people? Grin

TopTabby · 16/05/2021 19:21

Oh it was brilliant!!!Grin

I wasn't watching ( my blood pressure cannot take it these days) but following It on another site.

Oh my goodness😁😁. If you ever need a lesson in not giving up, LFC have that lesson in spades. Final of champions league, 3:00 down at half time, won it. semi of champions league, 3:0 down after first leg, won it.

And now Becker pulls a winning goal out of the bag in the 95th minute too keep our season going.

I'm my view, football is an international game these days, the days of only supporting the team nearest you is some what anachronistic. I don't live in Liverpool, though I did in the late 1960s. Neither does Dd (another avid supporter), but she was born there. I really don't think it matters. If you support them, that's good enough for most other fans.

I'm going to enjoy that goal when LFC tv show it tomorrow.
