I think someone has flung cat/small dog poo around my back yard.

(Not a poo troll. Happy for MNHQ to confirm if necessary.)

Well, let’s say, I certainly don’t think an animal has put it there.

There is lots of it. Not in a pile like an animal would do but dotted all over the yard and on the terrace like it’s been flung. And it’s a collection of poos. Not all from the same “movement”. Possibly not all from the same animal. Some lighter, some darker. The location of my yard means whoever has done it has either sought out my house, found the back entrance through a lane, come down through my garden, down my steps and flung it onto my yard. (Diagram included Wink) Or one of my neighbours has done it. Obvious suggestion would be a neighbour. But I don’t know why either would do this. I have cats and they do go outside. They don’t go into neighbour 2 garden at all as they have a dog. They do go in neighbour 1s garden to sleep under the hedge but so do the dozen other cats on this street and he also looks after his friends cats too on occasion which go in his garden so if there is poo there it could be from any one of the cats around. Mine also use a litter tray in the house and without wanting to be graphic- the poo in the yard is bigger than their poo. I’ve lived here several years and neighbour has never mentioned the cats being a problem. It would be difficult for neighbour 2 to have done it from their side too as where some of it is wouldn’t be possible from where they would have to throw it. Perhaps there is a magic poo fairy that delivers gifts that nobody wants? Confused

I’m thinking of getting a camera up to catch the culprit if it happens again.

Could it be hedgehog poo? We have that...

UhtredRagnarson · 14/05/2021 17:01

Poo Patrol
Do you have their number? I need to report an incident.

I’ll have to google hedgehog poo. Does it look like small dog poo? There’d have to have been loads of hedgehogs in my yard to do what is there.

Googled. Definitely not hedgehog poo.

A family of foxes? It might account for all the different and number of jobbies. I'm not an expert on crap by any means though Grin
(Just giggling at all the 'poo poo poo' on the diagram so thanks for that)

There wasn’t enough space to truly represent the number of individual poo locations on the diagram. I would say there were around 30 bits of poo all spread out.

You need to block off access to your garden.is there a family of foxes, cats or badgers living under your shed. If you think its deliberately put there put up a camera. Seems odd there's nothing on the lawn. There is an animal poo identifying app.

UhtredRagnarson · 14/05/2021 17:16

We use the gate for access so can’t block it off. The fact it’s just on the yard and terrace and the way it’s distributed makes me think it’s neighbour 1 rather than an animal or someone else.

It definitely sounds like the neighbours. I think I'd pop round to them both and ask if they've also had a visit from the poo fairy, while trying to judge if they look shifty. If they are a victim too I wouldn't want them thinking I'd been flinging it about the place!

bumpertobumper · 14/05/2021 17:19

Maybe lots of cats are pooing in the non-dog neighbours garden, they think it is all from your cats and have had enough and chucked it all into your garden. Just cos they've never said anything doesn't mean they don't think it's your cats pooing I. Their garden

Merchymor · 14/05/2021 17:25

Do you have a hot tub? Grin

Yes this sounds most likely. I’m going to ask neighbour 2 if they’ve had anything in their garden but I’m not going to speak to neighbour 1 as he scares me a bit. He gets drunk and/or high and roars and bangs/hits things in his house.

Grin no, why? Do they spray shit around the place?

Sorry, was referencing a thread where someone was complaining about noisy hot tub neighbours and one suggestion was to throw cat poo in to it!
Apologies, it was a silly comment from me @UhtredRagnarson

What a crap way to start your weekend

CovidCorvid · 14/05/2021 17:30

It’ll be your neighbours. The poo might belong to other cats as well but guess you’re the only garden in flinging distance. Some of the poo will belong to your cats so they feel you deserve it more than they do.

Jongleurterre · 14/05/2021 17:35

If it were poo that has been deposited a neighbours garden they would be at various stages of decay and have bits of soil and gravel attached.

Picture of actual poo would help.

I reckon a neighbor has lost it, decided you are to blame for the pop in their garden and done this.

We once had a neighbor do this with random dog poo bags, which were FA to do this us. DH went round and told them to pack it in and to be fair they did.

You need to talk to your neighbors or it will likely happen again.

I think it was meant to be light-hearted, lots of funny suggestions in there!

Jongleurterre · 14/05/2021 17:59

I wish I hadn’t asked for poo pictures.

*Puts down Toffee Crisp. Sad

Jongleurterre · 14/05/2021 18:01

That does indeed look like cat poo and in various stages of freshness.

I would knock and ask if there is a problem and that if they have done it there was no need as a simple word would have go you to discourage your cats from going in their garden such as your using rubber fence spikes etc
