Accused of posting on someone's LinkedIn...

I work in a public sector organisation and have been called in by my line manager to say that I have posted something offensive on someone's LinkedIn page and of causing offensive comments on twitter. Confused

I have a LinkedIn account but don't use it much, I do remember following and unfollowing this person a few months ago but no recollection of posting on their page. Is there a way I can check whether I commented without looking at their profile? I know they can see if I have looked at them and I don't want them to make any more allegations about me.

You first posted about this on 14 May 21. I'd be prepping to slap them with something legal on the anniversary if it's not resolved by then. I reckon they hope you've gone away and aren't bothered about it and are hoping it's been buried. It's at the bottom of someone's intray long forgotten about.

How long until the year?

Bearyhumcrack · 23/03/2022 18:24

@CloseYourEyesAndSee about 2 weeks.

🤞🏼

I wonder whether HR are allowing the situation to 'time out' so that they don't have to deal with it? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wonder whether HR are allowing the situation to 'time out' so that they don't have to deal with it? 🤷🏼‍♀️
This would be my concern hence the reason I suggested lodging an ET1.
Justilou1 · 25/03/2022 03:59

I agree ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Bearyhumcrack · 25/03/2022 06:41

Thank you @AlpineChalet. I have taken that on board, I think time is on my side for now?

Alongside the complaint about my boss, I will submit a complaint about the process, my understanding is that I need to do that before the ET1 but I have a lot of work to do before I fully understand this area.

I just read all this, it's utterly bizarre. If the original investigation was that you had posted something, and they know you didn't, then it boggles the mind how they are continuing this. Good luck to you @Bearyhumcrack.

shewillhaveherway · 25/03/2022 11:32

I can remember seeing this when you first posted @Bearyhumcrack , I can’t believe this is still going.
Are you still working there? what is the atmosphere like? I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for you. Best of luck - I hope you eventually get a large payout resolution.

WhatNoReally · 25/03/2022 17:31

You absolutely don't need to complete any internal complaint before you lodge a claim, but you do need to know what your claim is. Do you want to leave? If so, your claim would be constructive unfair dismissal. For this, you need a fundamental breach of the employment contract. Breach of trust and confidence comes under this. Your resignation would need to be in response to something. It could be the culmination of the grievance in a way which doesn't satisfy you in the back of the ridiculous history. If you don't want to resign, what do you want?

Bearyhumcrack · 25/03/2022 20:51

@WhatNoReally thank you SO MUCH for that. It makes a few things make sense so I'm super grateful.

Clock still ticking on them... no idea what's going on!

What was the outcome of the union report talking to HR? I thinknI missed it.
How do you feel about the ET1 process?
Seems like they are trying to wait you out.
How are you holding up?

Mummacake · 31/03/2022 22:55

Quite surprised that the union rep hasn't sought legal advice from their ppl or acas. As previously mentioned, be careful of involving external solicitors as the union will step back. Saw it happen in an old job. Have everything crossed for you that this will be satisfactorily resolved soon.

RonSwansonsChair · 31/03/2022 22:58

Oh wow! I remember your first post all those months ago ...... I can't believe it's still going on Shock
You are so strong!!! Fingers crossed it'll be resolved soon 🤞

SecretDoor · 01/04/2022 12:31

Is there anything to be gained by sending a polite email asking if there is an update ?

Bearyhumcrack · 01/04/2022 16:23

@SecretDoor possibly, I shall wait for the 12 month point before I do that.

Weirdly, my anxiety is the best it's been for ages. Im off on annual holiday for a couple of weeks very soon and I may address it all after that. I can feel a couple of subject access requests coming on.

Well they've cocked up so badly now.

It's your lying shit stirring boss that should be 💩 his pants.

Saltyquiche · 01/04/2022 17:55

Omg!! How can this be going on still?! Totally ridiculous

2DogsOnMySofa · 03/04/2022 21:44

When it's all done I'd be suing them for all the stress and not following process etc. I keep popping back to this thread, thinking it must have come to a resolution by now, can't believe it's still ongoing

Bearyhumcrack · 04/04/2022 07:13

No resolution yet! And we are a whisker away from the 12 month point.

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 04/04/2022 12:31

Think of the extra zeroes!!!

JacquelineCarlyle · 04/04/2022 23:47

This is just appalling behaviour on their part. You deserve so much better - I hope you get a lot of money from them in compensation! Hang in there!

RandomMess · 21/04/2022 08:24

Have you passed the 12 month point yet?

I get so angry on your behalf.
