Music to make an entrance to

What would you have?

We get married in 9 days, it has been a rushed affair as DP was told he has a very limited life expectancy back in Nov (he was told 6 months but he is nowhere near the end yet we hope) so we haven't really planned much. Today the registrar told me we can have entrance and exit music but I have no idea what to have.

Coldplay's Yellow sprang to mind because it was one of his favourite tracks a while ago but he is dying from bile duct cancer and turned yellow with jaundice this time last year so I am not sure now. Are there any tracks with meaningful words for a marriage? We hadn't even thought about music because we thought it wasn't allowed at the moment. Please help

A thousand years by Christina Perry.

I'm so sorry about your situation but I'm glad you're getting to marry one another. ❤

Actually I'm not sure the song choice is appropriate because it has the word died in it. I'm so sorry.

We had a song that had no words. Let me find it...

Me too and I love it Smile it's a beautiful piece.

Thanks for you and your soon-to-be DH, OP. I hope you both have a wonderful wedding day.

LostInTime · 13/05/2021 19:25

What bands do you both like? What kind of people are you? (Jokey or staid?)

FlibbertyGiblets · 13/05/2021 19:33

The Pines of Rome, the March. Start from where it gets noisy.

(Gentle hand pat)

eternalopt · 13/05/2021 19:36

We had here there and everywhere by the Beatles. It was played on the acoustic guitar but the lyrics are lovely.

bloodywhitecat · 13/05/2021 19:49

Jokey people. Pink, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden (more him than me), Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs, Rag and Bone Man, Keane, The Script. Stuff along those lines. I really liked the song from BBC1's Keeping Faith.

Actually that Christina Perry song is a really good call, I love that song. I am going to google the lyrics.

queenofthenorthwest · 13/05/2021 20:23

Etta James at last.
You got the love Florence and the machine

I hope your day is beautiful xx

Wowcherarestalkingme · 13/05/2021 20:25

We had the Piano Guys version of the Christina Perry song so it was just the music. Then we had the theme to superman as our exit music

BashfulClam · 13/05/2021 20:26

Waiting for a star to fall. If you are Scottish then Highland cathedral is traditionally played.

BabyMoonPie · 13/05/2021 20:30

Some friends walked back up the aisle together to Congratulations by Cliff Richard! I had traditional classical music but wish I'd gone for the Wallace and Grommett(sp) theme tune - modern classical that makes you smile. I hope your day and marriage are wonderful

BashfulClam · 13/05/2021 20:32

Ooh some friends left to the theme tune to ‘match of the day’

Strokethefurrywall · 13/05/2021 20:32

I walked down the aisle to that instrumental version of Kissing You by Des’ree

Somewhere over the rainbow.

I’m so sorry to read your predicament. Thinking of you 💐

Yutes · 13/05/2021 20:36

I Get To Love You by Ruelle.
Different Kind of Love by Biffy Clyro
Let’s Get Married by Bleachers

For something with no lyrics I like
“The Winner Is” from the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack.

I walked down the aisle to the Piano Guys version as well, it’s so beautiful. I read about it on a wedding forum, listened and cried my eyes out. Sent it to my MOH straight away and she did the same, sold!
