Music to make an entrance to

What would you have?

We get married in 9 days, it has been a rushed affair as DP was told he has a very limited life expectancy back in Nov (he was told 6 months but he is nowhere near the end yet we hope) so we haven't really planned much. Today the registrar told me we can have entrance and exit music but I have no idea what to have.

Coldplay's Yellow sprang to mind because it was one of his favourite tracks a while ago but he is dying from bile duct cancer and turned yellow with jaundice this time last year so I am not sure now. Are there any tracks with meaningful words for a marriage? We hadn't even thought about music because we thought it wasn't allowed at the moment. Please help

If you like Keane, I think ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ is beautiful.

‘Wouldn’t it be nice’ by the Beach Boys?

Hymn To Freedom by the Oscar Peterson trio is one of my favourite instrumental pieces.

Wishing you all the best for your wedding.

@TheFlis12345 me too! I didn’t realise what song it was until after I’d heard it a few times.

My BIL and his wife had the instrumental music from Forrest Gump which is so beautiful. The feather I think it’s called

I entered to The Proclaimers 'Let's Get Married' then walked down the aisle to Canon in D. We left to Madness/Labi Siffre It Must Be Love.

On a Day Like This by Elbow

Congratulations, I hope you have a great day x

I walked down to Sea of Love by Cat Power, I think its a beautiful song but might have to double check the lyrics.

Conversely, we walked out to REM End of the World.

Congratulations and I hope you have a lovely day

We had 'we have all the time in the world' by Louis Armstrong When we married DH was on the waiting list for a liver transplant and we were not expecting to find a donor so we had that to have a pause.

For church we had The Arrival Of The Queen of Sheba (Handel)

For our first dance we had Fly Me To The Moon covered by our band based on the Dean Martin version.

Here's a wild card for you -

SageRosemary · 14/05/2021 00:53

oh, and (((hugs))) - have a lovely day

Laughingravy · 14/05/2021 01:13

The etherial and mesmerising Song to the Siren by This Mortal Coil
Written by Tim Buckley this version with Liz Fraser's vocal is simply captivating.

Strokethefurrywall · 14/05/2021 13:12

We did too @queenofthenorthwest - perfect song!
