Greedy Kenny. How much looking after did poor George need? I’d have done it for free. apple.news/AsJoZtBdzQ0WGNT5xRdAUAA surely they had maids and cleaners and chefs and everything

Did you mean to post this in the feminism section?

EachandEveryone · 13/05/2021 13:28

😂😂😂😂 no!

Some people are plain greedy.
I imagine that GM was high maintenance and needy, but I can’t fathom how Kenny thinks he deserves the money

SadAboutSD · 13/05/2021 18:26

Kenny was always referred to as "millionaire American businessman Kenny" in stories when they were together, so I assumed he was genuine as he had his own money. How sad it has come to this. I've read rumours that they shared a health condition that KG may feel he needs recompense for, sadly. I loved GM.

KingRoloIV · 13/05/2021 18:56

Awk no Kenny not you too 😞

FrogFairy · 13/05/2021 20:08

Fadi Fawaz will be rubbing his hands together hoping for his own payoff.

NiceGerbil · 13/05/2021 20:20

Oh I dunno. They were together 13 years. It's a drop in the ocean compared to George's wealth. And I can imagine that he would have stopped work to support him. He was ill on and off for ages, he had well documented drug problems, he was probably away from home a lot and maybe Kenny looked after everything. Having lots of help means someone has to look after the help etc.

I can't get that fussed about it. Assuming they were together when he died.

If not then obviously it's greedy Kenny from me as well.

rockingthelook · 13/05/2021 20:23

Embarassed for him, thank God George had Andrew Ridgley and Shirley Kemp in his corner not treating him in life and death as a cash machine,

EachandEveryone · 13/05/2021 21:12

They had split up. Im surprised he wasnt left anything in the will though. God, i loved George I think his death really got to me more than Prince and Bowie and I dont know why really. I was a huge fan of all three.

NiceGerbil · 13/05/2021 21:16

Ah yep not right.

Yes I was upset too but somehow not surprised. He was localish and I knew people who knew them at school type thing. I was very fond of him always for some reason.

Gothichouse40 · 13/05/2021 21:18

I just find myself wondering who really valued and loved George Michael, for the person,he was.

NiceGerbil · 13/05/2021 22:19

He was close to his family I think.

We don't really know anything about him obv.

And with Kenny- was he with him when George got nicked in the gents in USA? Obv don't know if they had an open relationship but it just have been pretty awful having it all over the papers.

Also the series of car crashes while stoned.

They were together for a long time and is there reason to think Kenny didn't care for him?

Jongleurterre · 13/05/2021 22:24

I might be wrong but I thought he went for a share of the estate as George had been paying money every month to him even after they split up?

Therefore his claim was on the basis that George was providing for him and he should have been included in the will?

Hope that makes sense.

NiceGerbil · 14/05/2021 02:04

Dunno.

The money he asked for was not enormous given the size of George's estate and ongoing income.

I just can't get too worked up about it really.

Enko · 14/05/2021 08:12

@EachandEveryone

So feel that way too but I always had the softest spot for GM his death really got to me.

Surprised Kenny was left nothing and yes I suspect this will open the door for Fadi to claim too.

JollyAndBright · 14/05/2021 08:28

They split up five years before he died, he had been in a relationship with someone else for four years, how he was able to stake a claim on his estate as a ‘dependent’ is beyond me.

He claims despite being split up for 5 years GM was still completely financially supporting him.
From what I read GM gave KG a large sum before he dies to make sure he would be financially provided for.
I don’t care if they just realised they were better as friends and still remained close, the guy is clearly a scumbag.

dayswithaY · 14/05/2021 10:06

Poor George, he was let down by so many people in life and he never found happiness.

I know he and Kenny were together for a long time and George did say that when he was arrested in LA he gave Kenny $1 million to make it up to him.

There is a lot of money left in George's estate as recently his sister Melanie died unexpectedly young. She was the main beneficiary and died without making a will. It does seem greedy and mercenary of Kenny but I suppose if there's that much money left maybe it's ok to give some to a person who did love him once.

I still don't believe we know the truth about his death. Fadi's story seems a little sketchy. I hope one day someone uncovers the truth. I still miss his presence in this world. DaffodilDaffodil

EachandEveryone · 14/05/2021 10:26

I’m off for a long walk now. I will play him loud.

PolaDeVeboise · 14/05/2021 10:44

It's just so sad. As a fan, I liked the cut of Kenny's jib, however, this is just cheap and grabby.

gabsdot · 14/05/2021 11:36

Another reason to get married

EachandEveryone · 15/05/2021 12:43

I dont think it was a thing when they were together? Im not sure he wouldve done that if his mum was still alive.

The fact he asked for it is the ridiculous part. They were not even together. Hadn't been for years Hmm

Jongleurterre · 15/05/2021 13:02

If George has been paying his mortgage/rent and or other bills etc despite them not being together then it could be seen that George would have wanted to carry on providing for Kenny after he died and that’s why Kenny has made and won a claim on the estate.

Considering George’s apparently generosity it seems that he hadn’t factored in what would happen if he died and his will don’t properly reflect in his willingness to provide for others whilst he was alive.

flashylamp · 15/05/2021 13:48

Sometimes it's just tough shit though. Someone is good to you, they die. You get on with life.

This 'could be seen' intrigues me - why is a court working out what someone might have wanted over and above what they actually wanted? GM made a will and chose who he wanted to leave his money to.

NiceGerbil · 15/05/2021 13:52

I take your point in the situation. However in real life that would extend to a parent whose partner walks and that paired with the hopelessnes of pursuing NRP for child support means lots of children ending up in poverty. I know a lot of people say tough shit to that. Just wondering if you meant all situations where the unexpected happened. Or just this one.
