Why do some men do this? (Dick pics)

I've been talking to someone off of a dating app for a while and it was going brilliantly, we had a lot in common and had just arranged a first date to a popular theme park.

He then preceded to ask me personal questions about sex which I told him that I didn't feel comfortable but he was persistent and that was all he wanted to talk about. This was a complete change in personality and I began to feel uncomfortable.

Without any reason or warning I received a picture of just his junk fully erect, no message behind it literally just that.

I told him that I felt like he was only after one thing and that's not what I'm looking for and he has called me countless time which I have ignored.

It's put me off online dating as I thought he was a good guy.

I have no idea why they think it is appropriate or why they think that women find it attractive. I would just block and move on.

AcornCups · 13/05/2021 08:25

Because that is all he is after.

I also think that because men are so visual about attraction they assume we are the same. I think women overall put a meeting of minds as a higher priority.

Overall and with some trepidation in case I get piled on for saying it but I really think they are just very basic creatures.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 13/05/2021 08:27

It's the digital aequivalent of flashing - they do it for the shock value or because their sexuality got arrested at the age of three or thereabouts when children have this "undress in public" phase. Grin

Happylittlethoughts · 13/05/2021 08:28

Yuck, how horrible for you ! Well, at least he's saved you a lot of time and a few more uncomfortable experiences with this relationship! Thank the universe and move on.

Sparklingbrook · 13/05/2021 08:31

Urgh. I don’t understand why men do this. Maybe he assumed you’d send him a picture of your privates in return. Yuk.
At least you can bin him off and move on. Fingers crossed the next guy is more normal.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 13/05/2021 08:33

You gave him a much more polite response than he deserved.

At the least you should have just given him this 😂 then blocked him.

Urgh. What the fuck is wrong with men.

Chickybumbum · 13/05/2021 08:54

This used to happen to me. I’d reply with a score out of ten (always very low) and as withering a reply as I could think of at the time. It was great fun and I never had a repeat offender.

Looneytune253 · 13/05/2021 09:03

I agree with the PP that is is the digital equivalent of flashing which is a crime. I'm not quite sure why this isn't a proper crime too and the police wouldn't do something. I would defo threaten police if it happened to me. Might make him think twice

Sparklingbrook · 13/05/2021 09:07

Presumably it has brought him success at some point Confused

Jongleurterre · 13/05/2021 09:22

I get them all the time on Facebook.

I now reply with, ‘Why have you sent me a picture of a child’s penis?’ and then I block them.

bluebluezoo · 13/05/2021 09:26

“No, sorry, that’s too small. Good luck finding someone who likes a micropenis, but that won’t do it for me”

elQuintoConyo · 13/05/2021 09:31

"Sorry, I don't do Frankenweenies. But I've forwarded it to the police who are very interested."

Palavah · 13/05/2021 09:32

Report him and block him. Let the app deal with him.

DenisetheMenace · 13/05/2021 09:32

Presumably the app has guidelines? Forward it to their moderators so he can’t do it to anyone else.

JohnsRaincoatLost · 13/05/2021 09:35

I know some women have resorted to sending dick pics back then acting all innocent saying oh I thought we were sending each other dick pics?

summersolstice43 · 13/05/2021 09:45

A guy once did the same to me so I screenshot a random dick pic from the internet and sent it back to him and said "mines better" never heard from him again.

LaBellina · 13/05/2021 09:47

Because they would get arrested if they would just start flashing their cocks to strangers in the real world. Dating apps give these creeps a platform where they can act out their creepy behavior. No decent men sends unsolicited dickpics.

Margaretscratcher · 13/05/2021 10:41

Love some of these responses Grin

Honestly, no normal decent man does this. It’s totally unacceptable unless you’ve both agreed explicitly that you’re doing the pics thing (and even then be careful..)

They know it’s out of order.

Tuckedinbelly · 13/05/2021 11:20

"Erm why have you sent me a photo of a child's penis?! This is child porn. This is illegal. I am reporting you to the police as a peadophile risk."

romdowa · 13/05/2021 11:29

I used to send a random dick pic off Google back. 🤣🤣🤣

00100001 · 13/05/2021 11:29

Report him to the police. And the app/website.

Then block him.

BearSoFair · 13/05/2021 11:31

Luckily settled with DH before OLD really took off but I know my sister's go to response is 'oh that looks like a penis only so much smaller :(' which I love!

TheVanguardSix · 13/05/2021 11:34

oh that looks like a penis only so much smaller I love this! Grin

AquaEyes · 13/05/2021 19:46

These replies have me crying, thank you comfort cheering me up. I have reported his account and blocked him.

BashfulClam · 13/05/2021 20:37

@BearSoFair that was my response as I got a few when OLD. I used to say ‘oh what is that? It looks like a penis but much smaller!’

I read men are visually stimulated whereas women are mentally stimulated…it does show!
