Poor little lad. We live in Blackpool and the whole town is in shock. Rest easy Jordan ⚽️ 💙

So sad. Such a freak accident. Thanks

ichundich · 12/05/2021 21:16

Very sad indeed. What I don't understand is why they were playing football during a thunderstorm? Unless it literally came out of nowhere?

smallandimperfectlyformed · 12/05/2021 21:19

It's horrendous. I hope that his passing was instant and he didn't have time to feel pain or fear. Just awful. Rest in peace Jordan

PaperMonster · 12/05/2021 21:19

So very sad. If it was anything like the storm we had on Monday it will have come from nowhere.

SnarkyBag · 12/05/2021 21:20

Also had a thunder storm here yesterday and the rain and storm came from nowhere and went as quickly came

Iggly · 12/05/2021 21:21

Storms do come from nowhere sometimes, especially at this time of year. It’s happened to me before - took the kids to the park, glorious sunshine and within ten minutes thunder and lightning.

Poor kid and his family. So so horrendous, what an awful thing to happen.

purplecorkheart · 12/05/2021 21:21

Heartbreaking. So so awful for his friends and family and devastating for his team mates and coaches. My heart also goes out the first responders and paramedics.

Thatisnotwhatisaid · 12/05/2021 21:21

We had one last night which wasn’t forecast and it was honestly the loudest thunderstorm I’ve ever heard in my life so they can and do come from nowhere. Such a rare event, poor boy.

ElizabethTudor · 12/05/2021 21:22

Such sad news. RIP Jordan.

Fixitup2 · 12/05/2021 21:22

Absolutely awful. The poor family. I have a 9 year old and it’s just unimaginable.

Mamette · 12/05/2021 21:27

What an awful tragedy. His poor family.

999Alex · 12/05/2021 21:34

Absolutely heart breaking. My heart goes out to his family.

SteveArnottsCodeine · 12/05/2021 21:36

Terrible. As others have said it’s been strange weather here too with storms punctuating sunny conditions. Rest in peace. ❤️

Another local here, and it it did indeed come out of nowhere. Dark clouds rolled in quickly which looked nothing more than typical rain clouds, and the thunder and the storm came very quickly and was not forecasted. The Fylde has fairly unpredictable weather being a sheltered coastal location.

Very tragic circumstances with no blame to apportion

Holothane · 12/05/2021 21:42

That poor family my heart breaks for them 💐💐💐💐

Bawdrip · 12/05/2021 21:46

Been thinking of the family all day. Devasting shock.

whataballbag · 12/05/2021 21:49

It's just awful isn't it, feeling awful for all that knew and loved him.

The tower has been lit up red for him tonight ❤️

itsgettingwierd · 12/05/2021 21:50

This has played on my mind all day.

His family must be in complete shock and my thoughts are with them.

It's such a random event getting your head around it is hard and I can't imagine how his family come to terms with it.

RIP young man

BlowDryRat · 12/05/2021 21:57

His poor family. The coach must be devastated too.

Both my DC play football and are out on the pitch 4 days a week. They play in all weathers and it wouldn't have occurred to me before now that there might be a lightning risk. We've gone through lightning safety today and I gave them an extra squeeze before bed.

TokyoSushi · 12/05/2021 21:58

DS is 9, I can hardly bear to read about it, so tragic, his poor family Sad

Fixitup2 · 12/05/2021 22:07

@BlowDryRat I’m torn about whether to/how to talk to my DC about this.

BlowDryRat · 12/05/2021 22:25

@Fixitup2 I read some good tips in this linked article from BBC News: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36608210

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/05/2021 22:27

I read about that earlier on in the Liverpool Echo.

It’s So heartbreaking.

It just doesn’t bare thinking about what his poor family are going through.
RIP beautiful Jordan. 👼 xx

They are so unpredictable, we had thunderstorm clouds all day but no thunder.

musicalfrog · 12/05/2021 22:29

I heard his little friend talking about him on the radio earlier. Broke my heart.
