Any other subscription box fans and want to discuss?!

I get and love:

Cohorted £40 a month but the beauty stuff you get is worth so much more and really impressive.

Pyjama drama I get twice a year for me and my teen and love.

Gousto I get a box every month and love.

Freddie's flowers get once a month and love

Rocco teen gets this cheap and cheerful but higher value than you pay.

Fit and fab 4 times a year, a bit hit and miss might not get next year.

No criticism please, I gave up alcohol last year and was spending £70 a week on alcohol and I have a lot of physical health problems so spend on lovely gifts that really cheer me up!

Anyone get any good ones? And want to discuss!!

We've just started with Hello Fresh. It has been life changing. I'm LOVING it.

Redskyyy · 09/05/2021 14:59

Ooh this is interesting! We get a brownie box subscription from Hettys! Bloody amazing.

I am thinking of adding a monthly subscription box to my gift box business so watching this thread with interest.

Alfiemoon1 · 09/05/2021 15:03

We get gousto paid for my mum to have a year subscription to bloom and wild. I have been looking at beauty pie and lush

SymphonyofShadows · 09/05/2021 15:03

Glossybox but between the subscription and advent calendars I’ve amassed a huge amount of stuff, so I’ll probably stop it soon.

ElderMillennial · 09/05/2021 15:11

I don't subscribe to any subscription boxes at the moment.

I have had glossy box, birchbox, gousto, hello fresh and FabFitFun.

I wouldn't go for glossy or birchbox again as it tends to be a lot of minis that I don't ud although it is occasionally good value.

The pyjama one sounds nice and would make a good gift.

FabFitFun was quite good for the price and I am tempted to get it again.

There also a sweetie one I am tempted by but I think I'd get bored of it.

I've also considered period boxes and stationary boxes before but didn't get them.

MolotovMocktail · 09/05/2021 15:20

Any opinions on Gousto vs Hello Fresh? I constantly get spammed by Hello Fresh which puts me off a bit but it does sound nice and easy.

Laaaaa · 09/05/2021 15:24

Brownie box sounds amazing.

I agree with hello fresh/gousto being life changing I get a box every week which makes 16 meals and I only top up at supermarket for odd bits so food bill down. The thinking and shopping for food really got me down so I also love it.

@Redskyyy what were you thinking what sort of business.

agree with glossy box I loved the box but it was too much hand lotion and nail varnish. Roccobox this month had a full size illmaska highlighter so was pleased with that. Last months cohorted was worth £400. I'll se if I've got a picture and I give as gifts stuff I don't like!

Also got friends a one off gin box from the gin subscription box place and that's always good value.

Pyjama drama customer service is second to none as well. You get pyjamas which are really good quality and some beauty stuff.

Book ones look amazing as well

@MolotovMocktail I know what you mean. I prefer the veggie choices of Guosto but hello fresh do better offers

OP posts:
Laaaaa · 09/05/2021 15:25

Hello fresh is good though

ElderMillennial · 09/05/2021 15:27

@MolotovMocktail Gousto has much choice and better recipes in my opinion but is notably more expensive than Hello Fresh. They both have introductory offers (I may have codes I can share if you can't find any) so I would say try both and see what you think.

It works out quite a bit more expensive than just doing a supermarket shop and using a recipe but then so does Ocado...

Movinghouseatlast · 09/05/2021 15:30

Mindful Chef is fab!

I get a box of food for our cats from Untamed.

Freddie's Flowers every fortnight. Really cheers me up.

Beauty Pie I mostly like but will give it up soon as I think it makes me depend a lot more than I normally would.

I ha ffs razor blades. I thought it would force me to shave my legs more often but it doesn't!

Well I googled Rocco teen as I thought it could be something useful for my daughter. And what came up wasn't what I expected..... 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
MolotovMocktail · 09/05/2021 15:33

Thanks @ElderMillennial very tempted to try Gousto!

RickiTarr · 09/05/2021 15:33

How much does this all cost you?

I had Birchbox and one other (forget the name) but they weren’t tailored enough to be worth it. Felt wasteful.

One or two good quality subscriptions without waste I’d go for.

Laaaaa · 09/05/2021 15:33

Omg I've just done the same! 😂 @zippityzip it's roccabox sorry!

Period box's I've had in past for daughter amazing. You just have to time it right!!

DM me if you want a code for Hello Fresh free box (nothing in it for me, but happy to share!)

Oh X post.

I thought this was all some complicated perve ruse for a moment. 😂

Laaaaa · 09/05/2021 15:38

Freddie's flowers £25 fortnightly

Guosto £46 a week but means we don't need to eat out as much as all the meals are pretty special

Cohorted £40 a month but don't buy any skincare or makeup

Roccabox £10? Maybe less

Pyjama drama £25 a time

Fit and fab can't remember about £100 for a box 4 times a year,

RickiTarr · 09/05/2021 15:40

Adds up doesn’t it? But it’s good self care, especially if you’re still recovering from giving up booze.

The flowers are tempting. Do you stop appreciating them when they arrive like clockwork?

MoonBaby1 · 09/05/2021 15:40

What’s Rocco teen? I’m scared to look!

I get and love Little Fawn Box. It’s treats for mums and babies/toddlers up to 3. I love it.

I used to get latest n beauty which was gorgeous but I’m not high maintenance enough.

WeeFae · 09/05/2021 15:41

We get Snack Surprise, a box full of snacks and drinks from a different country each month.

Laaaaa · 09/05/2021 15:43

@WeeFae oh that sounds amazing is it good? So you have a referral code!

lightningpeach · 09/05/2021 15:45

We did have Hello Fresh which was good but have recently swapped to Mindful Chef and I love it. Its a bit more expensive but the quality of meat is much better and there is so much less of the carb fillers (found HF had more pasta / rice etc to fill you up whereas MC is a good variety of veg), Ive lost weight without really trying!

Laaaaa · 09/05/2021 15:45

@RickiTarr no I love them and they last ages

Last week when they died I went local florist and got Lilly's and roses. The Lilly's were £5 each and the bunch wasn't half as nice and was £35

I like that I am supporting local business.

It does add up but I only have one dd so justify it that way!!
