What should I watch next on Netflix?

I have just finished How I Met Your Mother, which I loved (although not a huge fan of the ending!) and before that I watched The Big Bang Theory, which I also really enjoyed (but not as much as HIMYM).

So, does anyone have any recommendations of what else I might like, based on those? I guess I'm looking for funny, not too serious, easy to watch, nothing violent, dark or scary (and nothing too intense/suspenseful - is that a word? - in any way that I'll go to bed thinking about it and not be able to sleep!).

Gilmore girls? Easy watching, funny and calming too. I love listening to it in the background while I go about my day.

Cuckoo is good, Derry girls, Motherland. 2 broke girls and the good place might be more your thing Smile

Grace & Frankie

Not in the same genre but I just watched Teen Mom - great so see this series again after all those years and now being a mum myself makes me view it from a different perspective.

Oh and I definitely agree with @BetterKateThanNever that Derry Girls is great ! I watched both seasons twice, esspecially sister Michael is hilarious.

Schitt’s Creek, funny and witty. Superstore is similar too.
If you like light hearted documentaries, Below Deck is entertaining!

Emily in Paris
Virgin River

Wow! So many suggestions already! I shall have to make a list and try an episode of each. I watched an episode of The Good Place before I settled on HIMYM and it was my second favourite I tried so maybe I'll give that another go.

My mum watched Virgin River so I saw quite a lot of that (not enough to feel like I've watched it, too much to go back and watch it myself!).

I also meant to add that ideally I'd like to watch something which is already complete, because I know from past experience I will lose interest waiting for a new season.

Derry Girls, Modern Family, Superstore

HorseGallopingOnATomato · 03/05/2021 20:24

Kim’s Convenience! I love it! it’s funny and really comforting.

RoadTripsOceanDips · 03/05/2021 20:27

The Good Place is brilliant, do go back to it. Otherwise, Schitt’s Creek is just wonderful. You become really invested in the characters.

EmphaticPeriod · 03/05/2021 20:32

I enjoyed Why are you like this?
Also on bbc iplayer Starstruck.

MyHairNeedsASnip · 03/05/2021 20:34

Oh definitely another vote for Superstore, it's such easy TV to watch.

Mrhwbin · 03/05/2021 20:36

New Girl

SionnachRua · 03/05/2021 20:39

Kims convenience and Derry girls are both amazing. Is the US Office still on there? I know it's on Amazon Prime anyway.

allofthecheese · 03/05/2021 20:41

Breaking Bad. Definitely.

SandysMam · 03/05/2021 20:43

Bridgerton, Virgin River, Ginny & Georgia are all fab!

JustAddCoffee91 · 03/05/2021 20:51

The office
Superstore
It's always sunny in Philadelphia (brilliant)
I've just finished shadow & bone... I loved it!!
Although slightly different category but still brilliant

Dinkydody · 03/05/2021 20:54

I second Gilmore Girls, watching just now for the 5th time 😌

diamondpony80 · 03/05/2021 20:56

Just finished watching The Office for the second time. Never thought it’d be something I’d find funny but teenage DS got me into it and it’s well worth watching.

SocraticJunkieWannabe · 03/05/2021 21:01

New Girl
Modern Family (not sure if it's on Netflix or Prime)
The US Office
Parks and Recreation
The Kominsky Method

Frazzled2207 · 03/05/2021 21:04

Bridgerton. Amazed nobody has suggested it yet.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt for something very light hearted.

Bridgerton was mentioned at 20:43. But yes, it's a good light watch!
HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 03/05/2021 21:07

Bridgerton
Firefly lane
Saga the winx project

Fulloffalafel · 03/05/2021 21:11

Superstore, definitely.

First series wasn't brilliant, but stick with it.

Graphista · 03/05/2021 21:14

Along similar lines I too would recommend Gilmore girls, modern family, new girl,

Dramas - but with a "light touch"

Like white collar, suits, Scorpion

Also some classic british like dinner ladies and only fools and horses

LuluJakey1 · 03/05/2021 21:15

Motherland has made me laugh. I hadn't seen it.
