Would you ever do a skydive?

It's defiantly high up on my bucket list. A friend of mine did one a few years ago and she said it was the most thrilling thing shes ever done.

I did a few in my twenties. Loved them. After the first two (I did a charity solo jump and loved it so much I went straight back up in the next plane for a second jump) I felt invincible for a year. My career rocketed because it gave me such a boost in self confidence. If you want to try it, do.

I e dine it a couple of times. I liked the bit where you’re floating under the open parachute much more than the free fall bit.

MumofPsuedoAdult · 02/05/2021 20:13

It's on my bucket list, definitely!

Never. Not in a million years. I hate the feeling of falling. It would be my worst nightmare.

majesticallyawkward · 02/05/2021 20:19

I was talking about this with dh today, I'd love to sky dive, bungee, parachute and a few other exiting things but I think that my fear would get the better of me. I've noticed I'm a lot less brave as I age (at the ripe old age of 32 😂)

So, yes I'd love to but in reality I'd wuss out.

TwinklyTits · 02/05/2021 20:20

Two skydives about 15 years ago. Absolutely loved it at the time but couldn't do it now. The mere thought of it brings me out in a cold sweat Confused

SexyGiraffe · 02/05/2021 20:22

I did it in my 20s and I'm so glad I did it then as I'd never do it now (early 40s). It's exhilarating.

DinosaurDiana · 02/05/2021 20:22

No.

Standrewsschool · 02/05/2021 20:22

No.

corlan · 02/05/2021 20:24

I did 2 static line jumps in my teens but, like others, have no desire to do it now. My youngest is 16 next year and she wants to do a tandem jump on her birthday. I think it's a great thing to do before the fear sets in as you get older!

TheVolturi · 02/05/2021 20:27

I would absolutely love to but I'm pretty sure my brain wouldn't let me fling myself out of a plane. Seems wrong!

Lonelycrab · 02/05/2021 20:27

No not for me thanks.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 02/05/2021 20:28

Hell no

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/05/2021 20:28

No, don't fancy it.

Thereoncewasababy · 02/05/2021 20:30

No way, this is the stuff of nightmares for me

ofwarren · 02/05/2021 20:31

Never ever, ever!
The thought just terrifies me.

SteveArnottsCodeine · 02/05/2021 20:32

I’ve always loved the idea of it, but the fear of the parachute not working and splatting on the ground at a million miles an hour is too big a fear for me to get past and actually do it.

PowerhouseOfTheCell · 02/05/2021 20:33

I done one and perforated my ear drum Grin the only thing I didn't enjoy was the whole being strapped to a complete stranger that you've entrusted with your life

cricketmum84 · 02/05/2021 20:34

Nope nope and a million times nope. You wouldn't even get me in the tiny plane let alone jumping back out of it 😂

My DH even suggested a hot air balloon this weekend and I just stared at him like he was insane.

dizzycatdance2 · 02/05/2021 20:35

Did a couple of parachute jumps at uni. Would love to do accelerated free fall but now , I'm my 50s, risk of a detached retina is to high Sad

ProfYaffle · 02/05/2021 20:37

I did a tandem about 17 years ago. I'm glad I did it but didn't enjoy it much, didn't like the sensation of falling through the air and felt sick once the canopy opened.

BiBabbles · 02/05/2021 20:39

My SIL did one in her late 40s some years back for charity -- never really talked about it and hasn't done it again so maybe not the highest recommendation Grin.

I've done bungee jumping and para gliding, but never had any interest in sky diving - maybe it feels like it'd be pushing my luck a bit too far and a bit of a waste of a plane when I haven't flown in so long.

Figgyboa · 02/05/2021 20:42

Yes, once in my 20s. Great experience but I wouldn't do it again

TrainspottingWelsh · 02/05/2021 20:43

Yes. But I'm an adrenaline junkie that loves anything like that.

blueandcream · 02/05/2021 20:44

I did but it made me very sick!
