@MrsOrMiss

Just saying....
Really made me giggle!
Mrsjayy · 02/05/2021 13:42

I'm going with John Corbett s wife her brother or uncle will be Jimmy Nesbett, like mentioned why else would she still be around. Although Kate is another I'd thought about!

vampirethriller · 02/05/2021 13:42

Carmichael.

Stopstaringatmehenry · 02/05/2021 13:42

Good points @AliceMcK! I’m so excited!

Re another series, my friend is a writer who knows Jed Mercurio professionally and her view is he’s keen to do other things, plus 6 seasons is a lot.

Mrsjayy · 02/05/2021 13:46

Anna Martin Maxwell was on this Morning she was calling Carmichael, Pat 😀

Mrsjayy · 02/05/2021 13:50

... and saying she was misunderstood .

AliceMcK · 02/05/2021 13:50

@Stopstaringatmehenry I’ve really enjoyed it, fantastic cast and writing but I definitely think it’s enough now, they can’t drag it out any longer as people will start to turn off it. If they continue the show I think it needs a whole new cast and new storylines.

I could never have managed 9 years of this. I watched series 5 last week not realising I’d started on series 5, then went back and binge watched the rest, finished last night ready for tonight. I’m excited too, I actually hope there is a good twist and they go back to explain how it all came about with whoever is H.

BadMotherLover · 02/05/2021 13:52

I think It is Osbourne and that Ted is going die.

Stopstaringatmehenry · 02/05/2021 13:56

I think one of our 3 is going to cark it tonight

Fairyliz · 02/05/2021 13:56

Please not Ted, hasn’t the last year been bad enough?
That would be the straw that broke the camels back ( or the wee donkey if you prefer)

Chocoqueen · 02/05/2021 13:57

@MrsOrMiss

Just saying....
GrinGrinGrin
Arrowheart · 02/05/2021 13:59

@Tarzaan

I think it's Carmichael.
Me too
IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 02/05/2021 13:59

If Kate, Ted or Steve die tonight I will need counselling.

EssentialHummus · 02/05/2021 14:15

Carmichael. But I'm really hoping for an explanation about the Scouse woman whose husband was bumped off (Corbett?) because I've no idea what's going on with her, Ted, the £50k, the hair salon job etc.

Chocoqueen · 02/05/2021 14:17

I'm leaning towards it being one of the top three - but can't make any of them fit! I do think after the raid on the the van while AC-12 were transporting Jimmy Lakewell that someone in AC-12 must have leaked the route.

Ted - too obvious, his reaction in the lift doesn't make sense. And he is fighting too hard to find the culprit.

Steve - been through too much at the expense of the OCG.

Kate - possibly... but to order her own death? Or was that a ruse to get Ryan out of the way before he got arrested and revealed her? But then why intervene to save Terry after presumably ordering Ryan to kill him in the lake.

Carmichael/Osborne while feasible is just too obvious for my liking.

TheWeeDonkey · 02/05/2021 14:31

The wee donkey, maybe?

It's not me guv.

I think its either Osbourne or Wise, I'll be gutted if its one of AC12

TheSuezCanalTugBoat · 02/05/2021 14:33

I think it's Katemate

TheSuezCanalTugBoat · 02/05/2021 14:34

It's Katemate, and she manipulated the "H" thing as a decoy when Dot was dying.

Stopstaringatmehenry · 02/05/2021 14:37

Now convinced Kate is bent after this thread! Say it isn’t so! Ted and Steve will be devo’d...

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 02/05/2021 14:39

Has anyone seen the film Misery?
I only ask because if it turns out Ted is H, I will be orchestrating a Kathy Bates style kidnap of Jed until he re-writes it to my satisfaction. I'm thinking endless supplies of coffee and hobnobs rather than hobbling him of course.
Anyone else in?

RaiseTheBeastie · 02/05/2021 14:40

I think the twist with Carmichael is going to be the opposite of being H.

She's been an absolute cnut every single time she's on screen. She's the most dislikeable character ever, the one everyone wants to see get a comeuppance, constantly appearing to shut down talk of an OCG.

She's a goody...I reckon she's going to be revealed as a saviour, the head of some secret investigation to root out the OCG members within the force. And to do so she had to ensure her investigation into organised crime wasn't compromised which is why she's kepr shutting down AC12.

Mrsjayy · 02/05/2021 14:43

That would be a satisfying ending I love Carmichael.

Stopstaringatmehenry · 02/05/2021 14:44

I’ll go with that theory @RaiseTheBeastie!

VELVETCLOUD · 02/05/2021 14:50

We are being invited to believe that 'Osborne' and 'Carmichael' are the corrupt Officers which may be the case and would conform to the previous pattern - we have known often the identities of the criminals and it is a question of what will happen and whether the villain shall be revealed

Mr. Mercurio and his team of writers have ensured kindly that there are threads intended to tease

It is interesting that the 'Terry Booth' character used - if recollection
serves correctly after all this time - the name 'Ross Hunter' which intimates a knowledge of the criminal family involved in the series

What is the role of the 'Deborah Devereux' character who may be more significant than she appears to be in the narrative?

We have to believe that 'Ryan Pilkington' was supposed to murder both 'Jo Davidson' and 'Kate Fleming' but the situation did not end as his controllers had planned

What was the involvement of the 'Steph MacDermott' character in the
death of her husband and the attempt to discredit 'Ted Hastings'?

It is possible that 'Line Of Duty' shall lose some of its enduring characters this evening - 'Hastings' or 'Arnott' or 'Fleming' - and viewers need to be on their guard against the sudden and terrifying use of a counterfeit Scottish accent which may sound akin to a set of bagpipes expiring in the corner of an empty room

It may not happen but be vigilant at all times

We ought to be grateful that 'Line Of Duty' has used so many of the finest character actors of their generation - Keeley Hawes, Lennie James, Gina McKee, Daniel Mays, Neil Morrissey, George Costigan, James Nesbitt - over the course of several series but it means we need to pay attention to any plot device which may lead to the arrival of Ramon Tikaram if he is not purloined by Messrs. Davies, Gatiss and Moffat and forced to take his turn as 'Doctor Who'

I think Carmichael is a deep cover goodie too
