Does anyone use them? I work long hours and am fed up of having to stop after work for fresh stuff and then buy far too much and get home later. What experiences have you had?

I have indirect dealing with the company who owns it ..... they are ok

Frownette · 01/05/2021 21:23

I've heard good talk about them on here, tried to get a slot during L1 but they were booked up.

Nanasueathome · 01/05/2021 21:27

I use them
Just have small delivery twice a week
I’ve never actually seen the milkman but kids are in my front porch before 5am each day

Nanasueathome · 01/05/2021 21:27

Goods, Not kids.....stupid autocorrect

Frenchdressing · 01/05/2021 21:28

Is there more of a local service you can use? We have a local milk delivery service. It’s fab. We get milk, bread and veg delivered.

Claireyskillz · 01/05/2021 21:29

Absolutely no problem. No idea when they come, but milk is always there by 0600!
Oat milk too 😊

weareallpassengers · 01/05/2021 21:29

I have used them for over 10 years.,no problems. ,though sometimes they don't have what I order (not milk) but not very often and refunded automatically

LubaLuca · 01/05/2021 21:33

I started using the local milkman a few years ago because, like you, I got fed up of having to remember to pick up essentials for packed lunches etc on the way home. It really has made my life easier. Of course it's not as cheap as the supermarket, but the convenience more than makes up for that.

grafittiartist · 01/05/2021 21:35

Great service- we are really happy with them.

indiakulfi · 01/05/2021 21:35

They deliver about 5am, wake up the neighbours and their cool box leaks when it rains so you have soggy bread and labels come off the packs like bacon.

Oldraver · 01/05/2021 21:36

I've been using them for years just a couple of bottles a year and added on bread

Years ago they used to do household staples but have now gone up market to poncy farm shop prices

I'm also cancelling my skimmed milk as it often arrives gone off

Oldraver · 01/05/2021 21:37

Ha we have a few bottles a week not a year

DragonflyInn · 01/05/2021 21:37

We stopped using them recently. Totally unreliable - some days the milk didn’t arrive until 2 in the afternoon, a few times it didn’t arrive at all. Frustrating because when it worked it was great, but it was no good to me if I didn’t know whether or not milk would be arriving. Customer service were pretty useless too.

megletthesecond · 01/05/2021 21:38

I've used them for about 6 years, milk and orange juice in glass bottles. No problems. Usually there by 7am.
I occasionally add food items too.

tywysoges · 01/05/2021 21:41

We had it for a while, our milkman was not terribly reliable. Plus he was horribly noise at 3am, probably woke up the whole street Blush

SoftSheen · 01/05/2021 21:41

Mostly good in my experience. Organic milk in glass bottles is very nice, as is the bread and juice. My children love the milkshakes. But it is quite expensive, so we use it just once a week to top-up in between our main weekly food shops.

Frownette · 01/05/2021 21:42

OP you're making me remember the days when milkman (woman) used to deliver the milk early and the tiny birds would sometimes have pecked through the foil cap first

MrsFionaCharming · 01/05/2021 21:48

Ours is great. We get eggs, milk and washing up liquid, plus sometimes yogurt, croissants, bread and a veg box.

Our milkman drops off about 10.30 at night, the night before it’s due. Which is nice for a last cup of tea before bed.

bebanjo · 01/05/2021 21:50

We tried them. We live in a terraced house and they just left the stuff on the street, it had gone by the time I went to fetch it in, they had 3 attempts and just would not bring it round the back, no gate or anything.
I refused to pay for anything course I never received anything .

JamieFraserskiltspeaksout · 01/05/2021 21:53

I admit to being seduced by the reusable glass bottles too. I agree it is very expensive. But every time I stop at a shop I spend more than I need to and eat more rubbish. If it keeps me out of Tesco, I think it may be worth a punt! Thanks everyone

Well... I’m in awe of your 10.30 cuppa. I’d be up five times in the night for the loo! Sounds lovely though.

I used them for a while with no problems, but then the first milkman left and his replacement was an arsehole - put a shitty note through my door complaining I'd inconvenienced him by changing the order the previous evening (well within the time allowed and advertised on their website) and scraped my neighbours car with his basket. Customer services couldn't give a toss when I called to tell them why I was cancelling either. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole now.

user1471530109 · 01/05/2021 21:59

I can't understand how people are saying their milk was going off? I've been using them for years and never had that issue.

My only gripe is this week, my deliveries have been late morning after I've gone to work. I think the regular milkman must be on holiday as normally the ring doorbell picks him up at an almost identical 1.50am for every delivery. Hopefully this is a short lived problem!

I like not having to put plastic bottles in the recycling. It's very easy to cancel or amend orders online even the evening before.

NotOnMute · 01/05/2021 22:01

I’ve used them here and in a previous house. Previous house I had to give up - completely unreliable. Here is great, always on the path by 7.30, he even puts them in the shade in summer.

It is expensive and the milk doesn’t keep as long as supermarket milk, but I like using a lot less plastic, and it’s great for mid week running out of carrots or bread or whatever. I still do my big shop at Tesco, but all my milk (cows and oat) is from Milk and More.

seebychloee · 01/05/2021 22:03

Yes handy for milk! Other than that I don't get any other as very pricey.
