What was your favourite night out snack?

Mine was chips with loads of garlic mayo. I must have had it several nights a week in uni! Eating after a night out wasn't a thing in my home town so I used to love getting food after a night out!

There was a place when I lived in spain that did this thing that was fried bread, then a massive slice of raw tomato, then a thick (I presume fried) slice of white fish (no idea what type). It was amazing.

Or once drunk and on the way home in the UK, obvs. a doner kebab, with lots of cabbage and garlic sauce, eat what I can, then have the rest in the morning for breakfast when it's all stodgy.

A portion of egg fried rice. I always preferred it to late-night chips.

Chips, cheese and gravy

Was just coming to say the same thing! Is this a Scottish thing?

@CuddlyDudley71 yup! I think it's been closed for close to ten years now but I'll always have happy yet hazy memories of being off my nut, sat at a Formica table, munching my way through a portion of chips in a polystyrene tray.

McDonald's chicken mayo

Pitta with salad, chips and garlic Mayo, or chips and garlic Mayo with a side of jalapeños. Or kebab meat and garlic Mayo.

Nachos with lots of melted cheese and guacamole.

Fried chicken with fries, and either BBQ beans or corn on the cob, maybe coleslaw or onion rings. Usually mayo to dip in.

Or just chicken nuggets and mayonnaise.

Mayo basically. My food was mayo.

A veggie kebab (shit loads of hummus, salad and garlic mayo in a pitta bread) from a Turkish kebab shop.

They also did chips and garlic mayo in a pitta

I used to go to the Hummingbird in Birmingham on Saturday nights. They had a little cafe bit downstairs near the mens bogs where you could get these amazing spicy vegetable patties, really cheap and easy to scoff down quick if a good song came on and you had to rush back to the dance floor.

Used to go home or to my boyfriend's house and make a bacon sandwich or bacon omelette, often with marmite drizzled in it. I actually don't know how we never started a fire actually :o

Or a battered sausage or a doner kebab with garlic mayo or chilli sauce. Amazing.

@DragonMamma

When I was in Manchester for Uni it was always Abduls for a chip naan. Food of the gods.

Latter years it was cheese and chips, sometimes with a pukka pie!

A cheesy chip naan from Abdul's. One time we talked the server into letting us go to the loo in the kitchen, didn't go back after that experience 🤢

Dairylea on toast as a student or garlic Mayo chips if I was feeling flush (still tasted the garlic 2 days later). Then in first job in London moved onto falafel in a kebab with chips when boyfriend had doner meat and chips. Moved onto chicken chow mein when I was on my own. Reheated half of that for lunch the next day once. That didn’t end well.....

Chips, cheese and curry sauce. Quite disgusting to look at but that right there was a styrofoam dish of happiness 😋

Box of donner, sometimes with onions. I could taste it for weeks after.

Didn’t eat while out but as soon as I got home whatever time it was I had a cup of tea and toast with Bovril

Usually just some toast when I'm home. I stay around the local villages for nights out though and the chippy shuts at 9. Not much else to choose from if you're out any later than that!

It was always pizza for me.

I did part of my degree in Canada, and at the end of the block I lived on there was a pizza slice shop. It was amazing.

When I came back, the place I moved to had a Pound Pizza place just over the road. I ate many pizzas that year Grin

Mine was doner meat and chips. With ketchup on the doner meat and garlic sauce on the chips. Used to take that home with me after a night out and sit in my bed stuffing it down. I must've been seriously drunk to eaten that shite and the thought of eating it now is a bit 🤢 although for some strange reason I went through a stage of craving that every time I had my period. I had it once and all I could think was did I really enjoy eating this every weekend. Thank god that phase soon surpassed I rarely go out anymore even before Covid but now my go to is a margarita pizza with extras onions or a slice of toast when I get home.

At university it was always chips and cheese from Hassan's on Broad Street. When I first moved to London either 1 piece of chicken and chips from Chicken Cottage, or chips and kebab meat from the amazing kebab shop at the bottom of Camden Road, can't remember the name.
