We've just booked a long weekend on the coast for September and I'm bloody thrilled! Can cancel until a few days before, so not too worried.

What holiday fun do you have coming up?

OP posts:

Just for tots week at butlins. Naff I know, but I have preschool twins who LOVE Justin fletcher( he's there) and swimming so I'm hoping we will have a really fun week. It was booked originally for March 2020 and has been postponed 3 times! I've cried a few times over that! Hope you enjoy your holiday, I don't think I'll quite believe its happening until we are actually there.

Orlando for Christmas/new year 2021/22 I booked it at a fab price (when no one thought we might ever leave the country again) and can be moved/cancelled up to the week before if necessary. If we have to move it we will go either Christmas 2022 or summer holidays 2022 but have everything crossed we get there.

Dorset for a week in October.

Last week we were in Whitby for 3 nights.

We are buying a trailer tent a week tomorrow so hoping for lots of 2-3 nights away.

No kids so don't have to worry about school holidays.

LemonRoses · 30/04/2021 20:20

We’re in our cottage at the moment. We’ve cancelled plans to go to France, to our boat and our plans to go to Iceland.

We’ve instead booked a week on Dartmoor and a week on Derwentwater, plus a couple of trips out here to the Isle of Wight.

We’re hopeful for a city break somewhere in Europe later on in the year.

TrickyD · 30/04/2021 21:15

Ten days in the Caribbean in early June, just DH and me
Not going to happen, is it?

Short cruise with DH up to the north of Scotland in early July,
Should be OK

Family holiday in the Caribbean at the end, of August two weeks, ten of us,
Faint chance.

Two weeks cruise to the Baltic in September DH and me
Dubious.

Family week skiing in January.
Reasonable possibility.

I don’t mind about losing the trips with just DH, but we will all be very sad if all the family ones get cancelled.

HairyToity · 30/04/2021 21:19

Booked two nights away for half term in Peak District, and a week in Devon in August. May possibly go away October half term for a couple of nights, but leaving booking till nearer the time.

Hughbert · 30/04/2021 21:24

Nothing :( , just decided this week to get a refund rather than book something from the deferred flights I had last year. Waiting to see how things go before booking anything abroad next year.

Abraxan · 30/04/2021 21:36

May half term - flying to Inverness to drive the NC500 in the Scottish highlands for 10 days, it was all either cancellable or moveable, but looks like we can go :)

Summer - fortnight driving to Cornwall via Bristol, Devon and Bath.

October half term - Florida for the Disney/Universal parks for a week. Only booked flights so far but they are refundable to tom2 weeks before and moveable up to 2 hours before. Will book hotels soon- they will be cancellable too. Will need to book parks at some point but they aren't transferable at present so need to check for best time.

altlife · 30/04/2021 21:37

Went to York for a few days in Easter holidays.

Hoping to go to London for half term.

Have a week booked in Bournemouth in August. Went last year and it was just gorgeous.

Hoping to book a European holiday next year but shall wait and see what happens

Echobelly · 30/04/2021 21:44

5 days self-catering near Welsh border in half term, then 3 days camping followed by 4 days in an airbnb in SW at end of August. May be some other long weekends as well, all in UK.

DH and I agree we probably don't want to deal with foreign travel hubs like airports this year even if you can travel, as they will be such a nightmare to go through.

CadburyCake · 30/04/2021 21:44

I tried to book what I thought would be unpopular this summer, so we’re going to London to do typical tourist stuff in the probably vain hope it will be quieter than usual without all the foreign tour groups and since every Brit I know is apparently going to Cornwall!

Also got a weekend at a theme park booked and we will probably do some coastal day trips.

RoseMartha · 30/04/2021 21:54

Nothing

But I have been looking for ages. Most the self catering in my budget has gone. I am now considering a B and B somewhere for 5-7 days but not sure if we will all stay sane in one room together. Lol

Whatalottachocca · 30/04/2021 22:20

A week by the sea for June half term, a week in Norfolk in Ju ly and a week in the Lake District in August. We've got a couple of weekends away booked in between times too and are off to Gloucestershire tomorrow for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Timeisavirtue · 30/04/2021 22:27

Non, we had to cancel ours as DS 13 Who has asd isn’t comfortable going anywhere other than school due to COVID. We were due to go to skegness butlins and then Blackpool for a few days. We won’t ever be able to go to butlins again after going there the last 13 years as they have stopped doing b-line passes and that is not good for DS. We’ve looked at center parcs for next year though.

Skegness has just been voted the worst seaside place in the UK. You've had a lucky escape! Dreadful place.

Fuck me can I have your job if you can afford that many exotic holidays!
bert3400 · 01/05/2021 06:45

I've booked Barbados in June, Scotland in August and I've just got back from Cancun ( I don't live in the UK and can travel) Felt very safe and would not hesitate to travel anywhere ( not India)

Timeisavirtue · 01/05/2021 06:48

@LudoBear we’ve been going to skegness for 13 years... we love it there it’s also a lot cheaper than the beach near us.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 01/05/2021 06:48

We have three UK breaks booked and I'm happily looking forward to them.

Orangebug · 01/05/2021 06:50

Week in Cornwall in July for this summer.

Just booked skiing for next winter. It can be cancelled without penalty up to a month beforehand if things are looking dodgy again by then.

MsTSwift · 01/05/2021 06:52

Ludo what is Whitby like? We booked to go there can’t pretend wouldn’t rather be Greek island hopping

TeenMinusTests · 01/05/2021 06:57

Jersey in summer holidays, postponed from last year.

Theredjellybean · 01/05/2021 06:58

Corsica in july
Canaries in August
Skiing North America in de

Don't understand the posters saying doom and gloom comments about being unlikely to happen
We are on track with road map, vaccination rates are high, I think we'll have vaccination passports and from May will be allowed to travel again.

Alfaix · 01/05/2021 07:02

Glamping May and August bank holidays with friends- likely to happen
Week in Norfolk in August also likely to happen
Fortnight in July somewhere sunny- who knows?
Week in October Canaries - not booked yet but optimistic

DeanImpala67 · 01/05/2021 07:06

Weekend away in Devon in half term and then a week away to the Isle of Man in July/Aug to see family we haven't seen for 18 months (only if their borders reopen as planned). Can't wait to see four walls that aren't our own house!!
