If you live at the seaside, do you go to the beach often..?

Or is it something after a while you take for granted?

I live a 3km off road bike ride from a beach, I guess about once a fortnight in the winter, at least once a week in the summer. But at height of lockdown one... every single day got the kids to ride down I ran each way and they played on the beach for 20 mins. Absolutely saved my life. Never moving away from the sea.

The seafront is at the end of my road. I walk along it daily and we pop there for half an hour or an hour fairly regularly but we very rarely go for longer than that. It’s not the nicest beach though! Two of my children are quite small and it’s just easier to go home for toilets/food etc and by the time I’ve dragged everyone back up to the house so someone can have a wee I don’t want to go back. My other two are teenagers and they never meet friends at the beach and I only get them to come with me if I bribe them with ice cream!

We live opposite a beach

We pretty much lived there when the kids were small, but don’t have days out to the beach now

I walk the dog on it most days

My daughters spend a lot of time down there in the summer with their friends - they take a bbq down there in the evenings, light a bonfire and stuff like that

DH fancies himself as a bit of a surf dude (he’s rubbish Grin) and goes down to fall off a surf board a couple of times a week - he’s a very fair weather surfer though, won’t go if it’s too cold

We go to the beach at least weekly sometimes more than once
Mainly to walk ,have a coffee, people watch, enjoy the noise of the sea etc
When children were little we used to go early in the day and leave by 11 when most people were arriving ..or we would go for a picnic tea after school
I love the sea

I've lived by the sea all my life and I completely and utterly take it for granted BUT most of the time the main beach/promenade is packed with people. So we travel maybe 15 minutes down the coast to a more isolated beach, we can spend hours there at all times of the year.

No. Grew up by the sea with a fair, never went !

@TeeBee

The beach is at the end of my road, I barely go down. I don't take it for granted, it's beautiful but I'm a country girl at heart and much prefer that to the beach. Comes into its own in the summer though. Free swimming pool and teenage hangout. Then my kids live there.
Me too. I do appreciate the ocean and get why people love it but it’s in the countryside, watching how nature is constantly changing, that I feel most at home

Yes used to walk the dog there at least a few times a week but maybe only once a month did a beach type afternoon etc if weather allowed

I'm half an hour from a popular coastal town. We go to the beach/sea front maybe 3 or 4 times a year. We go more often for non beach things, like the shopping centre, b&q, big water park, even the odd night out.....
