Inspired by another thread by HensTeeth44, here is a thread for lovers of fan fiction either writer or just an avid reader.

I do have some unfinished Harry Potter fan fic to share but I'm at working at the moment.

Dont be afraid to share your favourites.

If it's Richard Armitage underneath the prosthetics...absolutely not UR!

I actually started writing fanfic based on stuff he was in for some ladies I met on here and am still friends with them 11 years later!

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 16:09

Ahhhhh Richard Armitage.

The subject of many a dirty dream.

I've been thinking the HP verse.

What sort of contraception do they use?
How do you meet any potential partner in the magical world other than at school?
Real Estate. How does one buy a home to live in?
How does one get a job at the Ministry? I'd like to see the application process on that.
Are children not of Hogwarts age taught at home or is there some sort of magical primary school?
How to muggle parents explain the absence of their magical children? How would they explain away their deaths?

Arggh, minor details.

I've wondered about the magical contraception side.

Is there a spell? Does the Hogwarts hospital wing hand out contraceptive potions? How many babies have been conceived in empty classroom, bathroom and cupboard romps given the difficulty of using the dorms? Does the Room of Requirement respond to "I need a place to have a shag"?

Shit, now I might have to write a HP fic. Halo

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 16:57

Also, how does a woman find out she's pregnant? Is there a maternity wing at St Mungo's?

OP posts:
bunglebee · 22/04/2021 17:12

Is there an equivalent to scans? How do they deliver multiples? Surgery isn't really a thing, so I guess they magic babies out instead of doing sections? If anybody knows, it's Molly Weasley!

Now I'm picturing women who've been TTC peeing into cauldrons.

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 17:26

Did Molly know she was gonna have twins? Is there a spell that allows you to hear the heartbeat outside of the womb?

I wonder if there's a potion and women have to pee into and if it turns black, no baby, but if theres a puff of coloured smoke and a fan fare, there's a baby.

Do people especially gifted a apparating, apparate a baby out of the womb if the women cant deliver normally.?

Imagine having triplets in the wizarding world.

Considering the way the Weasley twins react to Percy having a girlfriend when they are 15 themselves, and all the stuff in the HBP about 'snogging', I think it's fair to say there is no shagging going on Hogwarts - they all seem incredibly sexually immature (which as it's a children's book makes sense...)

Me and a friend once had a theory that the real difference between wizards and muggles was lack of libido - because they almost all seem to be only children... apart from the Weasleys. Which is weird considering how into maintaining their own bloodlines they are ... apart from the Weasley's. But then Mr. Weasley loves muggles to an unusual extent for a wizard, maybe he loves shagging to an unusual extent for a wizard as well - maybe the two things are related.

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 18:01

I think the lack of siblings in most families was just easier for JK.

There's a lot of twins in the Wizarding world. There was at least 3 at Hogwarts at the same time.

Harry may have had siblings if James and Lily lived.

Hermione was Muggle born that rules her out.

A lot of the older Witches and Wizards did have siblings.

I wrote a few Big Bang Theory stories on fan fiction about 5 years ago, not looked at them for ages

Love BBT.

I'm tentatively putting together a Gerri/Roman 'Succession' fic...I write a lot of smut but I'm procrastinating as they will be a whole other levelBlush

Icantreachthepretzels · 22/04/2021 18:55

Yeah but ... in terms of how many shags, twins count the same as an only.

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 18:57

@Icantreachthepretzels

I bet the Wizarding World is rampant for shagging. They just dont want us knowing.

bunglebee · 22/04/2021 19:11

Hogwarts goes all the way up to 18, and they're legal adults in wizarding terms at 17. Plus they all live in. There is no way there isn't illicit teen bonking going on in there somewhere.

peachgreen · 22/04/2021 19:56

@MintyCedric you're brave - the real stuff is smutty enough as it is!

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 19:59

There was a deleted scene for GOF where Snape caught several couples in the carriages.

And Umbridge, didnt let boys and girls mix too closely. If she werent getting any action, then the older teens certainly werent either.

OP posts:
teaandcustardcreamsx · 22/04/2021 20:05

I remember that, Umbitch must’ve practising for social distancing 🤪 maybe she would be behind a pandemic in the wizarding world?

Most FanFiction’s I’ve read have had the contraception charm and the contraception potion

MrsGulDukat · 22/04/2021 20:06

Umbridge would do anything for power.

It's more Roman's weird kink/neurosis that is going to be tricky to work around.

I enjoy writing smut but I do find it hard work (pun intended Grin) without the additional context...but I like a challenge!

Has to be a spell... I've heard "Foetus deletus" mentioned before Grin

I have definitely read your stories! Often.
I am on AO3 and write Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Star Wars mostly but also a bit of Mystic Messenger.
I mostly write one shots as I have a short attention span, and they’re mostly a bit porny.

My pen name is oratorio, btw
