Truthfully what do you think the age limit is on dungarees

I really want some I’m 45! Too old? I’m also ‘curvy’. But damn they look comfy.

I like dungarees and think they suit some people and not others. Not due to age, but more to do with figures. I wore them when slim. But wouldn't wear any now as I'd resemble a giant chubby toddler.

Fembot123 · 17/04/2021 19:57

I like those OP

santabetterwashhishands · 17/04/2021 19:58

About 3 but that's just my opinion

osbertthesyrianhamster · 17/04/2021 19:58

Truthfully you wear whatever you like, whatever your body shape, at whatever your age. If you like it, go for it!

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 17/04/2021 20:01

Pre-school age.

TheFairyCaravan · 17/04/2021 20:05

I’m 50 and I’ve got 2 pairs. I love them, they’re so comfortable. I want some lightweight ones for the Summer

CorvusPurpureus · 17/04/2021 20:05

I have some super cheap lightweight cotton black ones. I'm 50, 6' but size 18.

They look bloody great from the front but make my arse look truly enormous, so are strictly kept for mooching about at home in, with a vest top underneath.

Lovely to wear though! For some reason they make me bounce about like a happy Tigger.

TrinityWaves · 17/04/2021 20:13

My friend wears them and they always look very nice on her!

I couldn't pull them off with my 50+ inch bum but they look lovely on other people.

CrazyOldBagLady · 17/04/2021 20:25

As soon as you are potty trained, I think they have had their time.

AnnaSW1 · 17/04/2021 20:29

Single figures

AgentCooper · 17/04/2021 20:32

When you’re a child, up to potty training because then they become a faff.

As an adult, as long as you want because if you like them that’s what counts. Life is too bloody short.

MamaWeasel · 17/04/2021 20:36

@Arbadacarba

I don't think they flatter any adult of any age, but I don't believe in age-limits for clothes or, indeed, caring what others think. If you want some, get some and wear them happily.
This!
bananaboats · 17/04/2021 20:43

I think maybe age 5? I think they are awful on all adults sorry op!

Banville · 17/04/2021 20:45

I'm not a fan of dungarees but agree that if you're yearning to wear something you should just bloody wear it. Whatever your age. Meryl Streep wore them in Mamma Mia and she must have been about 60 then. She looked good in them, in that 'living on a Greek island, all my old lovers are coming to visit, let's have a bit of a song and dance' kind of way.

I think they key is for them to be nice and loose, nothing worse than snug dungarees. It emphasises the crotch too much.

murbblurb · 17/04/2021 20:46

About 5. Dungarees and hair in bunches are the only fashion choices that have an age limit.

jeannie46 · 17/04/2021 20:50

2 possibly at a pinch 3 ( first reaction) 99 wear what you like ! ( second).

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/04/2021 20:51

I also sometimes wear my hair in pigtails.

thenightsky · 17/04/2021 20:51

She really didn't Grin

Viviennemary · 17/04/2021 20:51

I think around two. Possibly stretched to three at a pinch.

Banville · 17/04/2021 20:53

Well I've just consulted google images and I think Meryl looked fine. Not my thing sartorially speaking but yeah, she looked good.

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/04/2021 20:54

The thing is, I'm not trying to be fashionable, nor am I going anywhere that means my clothing/hair choices would be inappropriate.
I just buy and wear what I like because why not?

KindleRemote · 17/04/2021 20:58

Meh, just get them.

Personally, I wouldn't because I've never liked the bloody things. They're a pain in the arse when you need to go for a wee. Same for jumpsuits. Even on the DC, I hated having to change them in dungarees. My DM insisted on buying us a million pairs.

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/04/2021 21:14

As soon as Dd outgrew the poppered leg dungarees I stopped putted them on her!

peak2021 · 17/04/2021 21:17

It's not the age it's where you wear them.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 17/04/2021 21:19

I've just bought some and I'm 43. I give no fucks what other people think though
