My mum reckons most people will be watching BBC. What are you watching? BBC for me and my mum (separate homes)

The Queen sitting on her own was just Sad So used to seeing Philip by her side.

It was nice to see William, Kate and Harry walking together.

ServedWithAReg15 · 17/04/2021 15:59

That was beautiful and very fitting.

Yes Zara had a boy called Lucas.

Which made me giggle because the lad who played PW in The Crown was called Lucas!

Twisique · 17/04/2021 15:59

Beatrice looked upset as they left the chapel, nice to see her husband support her. She looked like she didn't want to leave the chapel :(

RaraRachael · 17/04/2021 15:59

Always the BBC for this type of occasion. Sadly it was spoiled for me by neighbours' dogs barking incessantly outside my window Angry

HouseofWindsor · 17/04/2021 16:00

Do you think dry sherry all round ?

LagneyandCasey · 17/04/2021 16:00

@Dobbyafreeelf

Zara had her son two weeks ago. Think it's just Megan pregnant now.

Really nice to see William and Harry talking & walking together

Oh yes of course. It must be lovely for the queen having all the new babies arriving. Bitter sweet too of course without her husband.

I can't watch, too close to home at the min :(

But just to say - it is hot. I'm about 5 miles from Windsor, and sitting in the garden in a vest.

diddl · 17/04/2021 16:00

"Interesting... I like the land rover thing but other wise... Very dry and boring"

It was the funeral of a 99yr old, traditional man who I think had mainly organised it as he wanted it to be

UsedToBeSeventeen · 17/04/2021 16:01

Even dd said at the beginning, I wonder what would happen if the trumpeter went mad and started to go all Louis Armstrong... Wouldn't that be so special and sensational..

The DofE would have hated that though.

Charles and his hanky Sad

itsgettingwierd · 17/04/2021 16:01

Spring that's the funeral Prince Philip wanted and planned. It was his send of for his family.

Not a spectacle for us to watch.

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 17/04/2021 16:01

Very dry and boring

One man’s dry and boring is another’s elegant and moving. Reduced numbers aside, it seemed like exactly what he would have wanted. A rousing choir would not be allowed due to covid restrictions, that’s why there were only 4 choristers.

Interesting... I like the land rover thing but other wise... Very dry and boring ...

Hate the organ.. The repressed singing in those strange strangled accents... The droll awful organ.

Imagine a rousing choir... Opera..
Rusticana.. Orchestra..

The choir were fantastic.I wasn't 100% on all of the choices but loved the Britten.

A few splits from the post horns.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 17/04/2021 16:02

I’ll raise a glass of Sherry with you, and with them HouseOfWindsor

Agree
Springisspringing2 · 17/04/2021 16:02

..

I find it all very droll... Uninspiring..the organ.. Does anyone really like it??

Dobbyafreeelf · 17/04/2021 16:02

@Tullyjune

Seems they are not in as much of a feud as the media would have us believe.
Beginning to wonder if this feud may have been used as something of a shield. Providing some privacy and reduction in speculation about His health in the final months of the Duke's life.

It’s a funeral, not the last night of the bloody proms.
HouseofWindsor · 17/04/2021 16:03

@itsgettingwierd I'll be raising a glass of red tonight

God bless The Queen

FairNotFair · 17/04/2021 16:04

I do not think "droll" means what you think it means

Springisspringing2 · 17/04/2021 16:04

Really disliked the Britton, obviously covid restrictions.

But I just dislike this organ, droll choir, droll vicars reading.

So flat.
