Do you think that Fergie and Prince Andrew will get remarried now?

Prince Phillip couldn't stand Fergie don't blame him but now that he has died the way is clear.

It could be a new start for both of them - she's sorted out her debts and clattery lifestyle, and he needs a big PR win.

Just wondering...

@SimonJT

I think shes about 45 years too old for Andrew.
Andrew though has never been visibly interested in younger women. In fact pre VR I wouldn't have said this about him at all. The cynical side of me suggests he's been targeted as he didn't pay out....unlike the other public figures.

Disclaimer - I know there will be a slew of messages calling him all sorts but personally if I was placing a bet it would be on "Stupid, foolish and naive in the extreme" rather than anything criminal.

squarespecs · 17/04/2021 09:35

my parents (mid 60's) and grandparents (mid 80's) still can't stand Camilla. I think it's only the younger generations that have 'accepted' her

Not true at all in my experience.

KeflavikAirport · 17/04/2021 09:37

Maxine = Ghislaine

KillingMeHardly · 17/04/2021 09:38

Camilla going from scarlet woman to national treasure is mainly down to Charles hiring a very expensive and skilled spin doctor 20 years ago! There’s a documentary called Reinventing the Royals that apparently details it all.

dottiedodah · 17/04/2021 09:47

I think they live together anyway .I imagine they perhaps stayed like this for their DD and also the fact they are good friends .Cant see any reason they would want to remarry! I think Sarah would want to retain some of her independence .Andrew has not been seen in a very good light recently and she would not want to link with that .

awaynboilyurheid · 17/04/2021 09:50

Think Fergie still loves him and likes the perks that come with staying loyal, he on the other hand prefers them a lot younger...

cushioncovers · 17/04/2021 09:54

Nope I think she divorced him because she knew about the 'company' he kept.

EventuallyDistracted · 17/04/2021 09:55

Surely she's got the best of both worlds at the moment, the relationship, the home, but no restrictions/obligations through being part of the Royal Family.

JustLyra · 17/04/2021 09:59

She can't object to the company he keeps that much given she openly lives with him, and even jointly owns a holiday home with him.
diddl · 17/04/2021 09:59

"He wouldn't need to approve. Only the first six in line need approval and Andrew is 8th."

I thought it was also if you were under 25?

Plus, I would have thought that you can still marry without approval, but then of course you lose any perks.

cushioncovers · 17/04/2021 10:02

Just I wonder if she gets all these freebeeies in return for her silence on certain topics. 🤷🏻‍♀️

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 17/04/2021 10:05

@OutComeTheWolves

God I hope not. She's made some bad decisions in her life but let's not remarry a pompous, rapey friend of a sex trafficker.
This basically

I did always think they might get back together, but no

Just no no no no no no

Gothichouse40 · 17/04/2021 10:05

If I was Sarah I'd run for the hills. Prince Andrew has been shown to keep very dubious company.

IEat · 17/04/2021 10:07

Weren’t they daring before the scandal?

peak2021 · 17/04/2021 10:08

I don't think they will. It may be that the Duchess of York might be invited to some Royal occasions given that the Duke of Edinburgh has died, but if so it may be a while yet. As Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are married now, there is not the question of young children being without parents.

Theglassmakerofmurano · 17/04/2021 10:10

@Goldenphoenix

Christ, she's better off away from that odious man. Hope she steers well clear!
She’s never stayed clear. They live together and have for years.

If you were over 25 and had been denied permission then if you inform parliament, and wait a year, then your marriage wouldn't be void, unless Parliament gave absolute disapproval.

If you were under 25 you had to wait until you were 25 before you could go down that route to legally marry.

viques · 17/04/2021 10:11

I’m surprised they managed to wait a week without announcing it!

Why else has she been hanging around? And from his point of view it turns him from teen grabbing pervert to respectable married nation’s grandfather in one stroke.

His mum denied him the opportunity to dress up as an admiral, so she won’t deny him this. I think Charles will be grinding his teeth ,though in fairness he did much the same thing.

SelkieIntegrated · 17/04/2021 10:13

I think the firm like the fact that his ex wife isnt repulsed by him, ykwim, there's an implied conclusion that he cant be that bad if his xw is friends with him. But fergie has her own skeletons, she took a cheque off JE i think.

Frownette · 17/04/2021 10:20

Oh, Jeffrey Epstein. JE foxed me momentarily.

It was supposed to be for £15k I believe? Confused

DeciduousPerennial · 17/04/2021 10:27

What a catastrophically disastrous decision that would be, for both of them.

Rillington · 17/04/2021 10:31

I like Fergie I always have. She's very down to earth. She should stay away from Andrew he is scum of the earth.

KillingMeHardly · 17/04/2021 11:09

Rillington, I agree. I think Fergie is essentially a warm and kind-hearted woman but Andrew has always been her blind spot. I’m not sure why though as he’s not treated her particularly well over the years. When she fell for the fake sheikh scam he stayed clear and left her to fend for herself, even though I’m sure she was telling the truth, and he seemed to keep his distance at Eugenie’s wedding too.

Medievalist · 17/04/2021 12:41

She's very down to earth.

I'm not sure I would call someone who runs up millions of pounds worth of debt - despite living a life of privilege - and sells access to PA particularly down to earth ...

They're both self-serving, money-grabbing, self important people so in that sense they are a good match.

I can't imagine anyone gives a monkeys though if they continue to live together or retie the knot. Certainly no PR coup.
