Older girls pants

DD (13) doesn’t like shorts. However I’m struggling to find pants that aren’t - pink, days of the week, floral or all white.
There seems to be more choice in shorts. She doesn’t like white pants because of her period.

I’d love to be able to find mostly plain blue/black cotton pants?

OP posts:

I managed to get an black ones in asda and Morrisons a few weeks ago for after labour. Struggled to get shorts, infact they weren't even proper shorts

halcyondays · 14/04/2021 11:46

Primark do 4-6. Black pants in all the usual styles.

Pyewackect · 14/04/2021 11:47

Knickers, not pants !.

Tesco definitely do packs of plain black briefs. Usually in the school uniform section.

DD was so pleased when I found them as we had the same issue with all pale colours. I bought a few packs of the next size up in case they revert to impractical colours.

SoupDragon · 14/04/2021 11:48

Wish I hadn’t asked

Why??

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 11:48

You probably won't find black in the kids section. We went to adults pants for dd early on and used size 8 I think. If she's smaller look for a 6.

Cissyandflora · 14/04/2021 11:48

Is this one of those weird ones?

GreenHairThingy · 14/04/2021 11:51

Erm, you've had really helpful replies @Sidewalksue.

Unless you were hoping for detailed descriptions of our children in their underwear? Because we get A LOT of thinly disguised pervert posts from first time posters asking seemingly innocent questions about children's underwear.

You've had very respectful and helpful replies IMO.

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 11:51

@rainbowthoughts

She would just want plain black given the choice but I can’t see any (that aren’t period pants).

Plain black pants is hardly a challenge for a 13 year old. They will sell them in the majority of supermarkets and clothes stores. What are you finding so difficult about it?

It is very hard to find plain black pants in the children's section so no need to be rude. I had to buy dd ladies pants to get away from white and patterned pants
justjuggling · 14/04/2021 11:51

I bought size 6 black knickers in next which were a perfect fit for 13 year old DD.

I gave the benefit of the doubt but now I'm suspicious
oohmyback · 14/04/2021 11:52

My 12 and 14 yr olds wear small adult sizes. We started with primary size 6.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 14/04/2021 11:54

A quick Google and they have the in asda, H&M, marks and spencers, next, amazon

I thought this too!

It's almost like they want you to describe what pants Confused.

Yeah I think so consthey are not hard to vet at all
dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 11:55

They obviously didn't have them instore when OP looked. I have had the same issue in the past. Not all stores carry the same stock

dementedpixie · 14/04/2021 11:57

God, you're all so suspicious!

Well obviously not, no one is saying they do! But looking online you can get black pants or whatever pants.

It's good to be suspicious when someone comes on talking about young girls underwear. Don't you think?

I want being rude. OP never mentioned her child was the size of a 10 year old when I posted. It's not difficult to find black pants for a 13 year old at all. Not rude. Just fact.

rainbowthoughts · 14/04/2021 12:00

Wasn't Blush

Janek · 14/04/2021 12:17

M and s have their full pants range online compared with very little in my local store. And I was surprised when skinny dd1 needed size 8 rather than the size 6 I had bought for her. In fact it made me rethink the size I wore too... And now I'm much happier in bigger knickers!

reluctantbrit · 14/04/2021 12:19

DD wears 15-16 children M&S in black or size 10 in adult size. The majority is black.

So I would think size 6 will work for your DD.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 14/04/2021 12:20

I get DD11 adult ones in sainsburys. Size 8 (she's got my curvy bum!). For the same reasons, everything for girls is pink. I just let her choose from the website.
