I know everyone is different, but What if any were your side effects from it. How can I expect to feel afterwards.

@Umbivalent

No interesting side effects to report here. AZ, aged 54.
Snap. Mildly sore arm.

I’m still fine. My arms giving me a bit of jib. However it’s the sort of pain that I wouldn’t even notice if I hadn’t had the vaccine.
I find it odd though that I haven’t came down with any side effects. The Doctor told me. The stronger your immune system is the more likely you are to experience side effects. I’m thankfully never physically unwell, which would suggest a good immune system but no side effects. Mind you there again he did say more likely not definitely.

I'd heard that too - however I very rarely catch illnesses etc and I didn't have any real side effects either.

Common and mild or moderate side effects are a good thing: they show us that the vaccine is working. Experiencing no side effects doesn’t mean the vaccine is ineffective. It means everybody responds differently.

I’m 61 and had AZ.
I had the vaccination at 8pm. The following morning I felt a little nauseous but by lunchtime had shivers, felt flu’y and generally bleugh. Stayed under a blanket on settee for the afternoon and couldn’t eat my evening meal but by about 8pm I was fine.
The next day I felt energised - probably relief from having the vaccine.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 16/04/2021 14:26

AZ here. First dose - nothing. Second dose - mildest of headaches in the evening.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/04/2021 14:37

AZ vacs

dh had no affects

I had a couple of restless nights, a 38.9 temperature the next day for 2 days and felt cold, but otherwise felt ok and worked through. Day 2 arm was sore/red, just like it had a big bruise for 3-4 days.

Friend who had the same day said her arm was agony for 2 days, says it felt like a frozen shoulder she had before.

Scbchl · 19/04/2021 13:43

We ended up both having a bit of a sore arm for a couple of days. Just felt like a dead arm when someone punches you. Other than that we were fine. Also had AZ.

Procrastatron · 19/04/2021 17:40

Had it yesterday after lunch. Don’t think my immune system is in great shape based on the last year and I have long covid. I’ve been in bed since 8pm last night with body aches and shivers popping as much paracetamol as I’m allowed. I might be feeling better but I’m not sure.

I had AZ. Absolutely no side effects whatsoever - I couldn't even tell where they had put the needle as my arm wasn't even sore. My DH had AZ two weeks before me and about 10 hours later got the shivers, really tired and a headache. All passed within 48 hours.

DeRigueurMortis · 19/04/2021 17:58

Had AZ with today!

So far so great and feel fine.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/04/2021 18:15

Still no S.Es. Was told I’d get them in the first 48 hours if was gonna get them.
It’s was so weird getting because I actually felt the liquid from the needle going into my arm.

I had the Pfizer one two weeks ago. No issues at all.
We'll see what second one brings.

DinosApple · 19/04/2021 19:16

AZ first jab I felt awful for about 4 days. (Temperature, fever, chills, aches).

AZ second jab, felt a bit tired for 24 hours, but absolutely fine thank goodness.

All done now and bloody grateful to have had both vaccines.

tenlittlecygnets · 19/04/2021 22:00

Had the first AZ 4 days ago. No side effects at all apart from a slightly tender arm.

DeRigueurMortis · 21/04/2021 18:05

@DeRigueurMortis

Had AZ with today!

So far so great and feel fine.

So yesterday had a bit of a sore arm but that was it.

Feel fine today!

Roll on the next jab!
