I know everyone is different, but What if any were your side effects from it. How can I expect to feel afterwards.

It really wasn't a big deal at all. I was tired and had a bit of a headache on and off for about 4 days after. But then I'm often tired and I also have hayfever at the moment, so it's hard to say how much that contributed. A bit of an early bedtime for a few days and I was fine.

TonTonMacoute · 14/04/2021 14:32

Had mine 6pm. Arm a bit sore, I felt a bit nauseous next morning and very tired the next evening and went to bed early.

actiongirl1978 · 14/04/2021 14:40

I had AZ on 10th April at 8am.

By 8pm I was doubled over in bed with shakes, shivers, chills, heat and my body ached from top to toe. My temperature was 39.2 for most of the night then about 4am dropped to 38 then by 8am was back to normal.

I felt like an old lady all day on Sunday, aching and did the slowest dog walk ever!

By Sunday night I could run up the stairs again at bedtime.

However I did spend the last 4 days with no appetite for food - I was hungry but nothing appealed and I didn't want to be anywhere near veg or fruit or anything healthy. I've picked at things and eaten chocolate and white toast or bits of chicken. Sadly no associated weightloss! It felt a bit like the nausea I had with morning sickness.

I am usually a massive eater of healthy food. I also haven't felt like doing Hiit or running so have given myself a week off exercise other than dogwalking. Every now and then I feel woozy.

Totally 100% glad I had it through a no waste scheme via the school I work for. Very grateful.

I had AZ a month ago. Injection site was sore for a week or so, body achy for about 12 hours the next day. No big deal at all.

Cailleach · 14/04/2021 16:02

Ok so now I have fairly major sinus swelling and now both sides of my upper teeth are killing me. Add extreme fatigue, blurry vision and nausea into the mix and frankly I am not having a fun time after this jab.

I keep telling myself that immune system is clearly working well but frankly that's not much comfort right now!

MarshaBradyo · 14/04/2021 16:03

I’m on Friday big day!

Frymetothemoon · 14/04/2021 16:06

Friend who had hers yesterday reports minor headache

duodunical · 14/04/2021 16:23

I think that lots people who haven't had any side effects aren't bothering to post OP, so this thread isn't a fair representation. I know many people who've had it with no problems at all, that includes me, DH, DD, and lots of neighbours, young and old.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/04/2021 16:25

Oh no please don’t tell me tooth ache is a possible side effect. The worse pain ever!!!!!
😞

It's not as severe as an abscess, @Awwlookatmybabyspider but whenever I have a cold or my sinuses go mental, every time.

I have caved in and taken paracetamol. Urgh!

Iwasonceabrownie · 14/04/2021 16:30

I've had both, First one I had a swollen red arm but felt ok. Second one, no side effects at all.

AmelieTaylor · 14/04/2021 16:31

I know about a dozen people who have had the AZ

Even the ones who had previously had Covid didn't have anything worse than a slightly sore arm or a slight headache, aches etc. No one had anything that you wouldn't normally not even notice or at worst take a couple of paracetamol

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/04/2021 16:34

I had my first AZ a month ago. No problems

midsomermurderess · 14/04/2021 16:45

No side effects at all from AZ, not even a sore arm. I know of only one person whose daughter reacted quite badly, having previously had Covid.

RunHobbitRun · 14/04/2021 16:53

AZ vaccination people in my family have reported sore arm as biggest side effect. One had a mild headache shortly after but was then fine. None felt ill.

Pfizer vaccinated person only reported a sore arm.

This years flu jab was far worse for side effects than the covid jab for me. (I was ill for two weeks after the flu jab...may as well have caught the flu!).

Hope everyone waiting for a jab has minor/no side effects too.

TomorrowsPrincess · 14/04/2021 17:07

I'm 39, no underlying health issues. I had the Astra Zeneca. I had mine at 11.30am in the morning, started to feel really tired and 'flu-y' by about 6.30pm. Went to bed at 8.30pm as I felt awful. I had a temperature and felt shivery and ached. Had a really restless night and got up at 6.30am still feeling rubbish. By tea time the following day of the jab, I started to feel better. So about 24hrs of feeling crap. Wasn't the worst I had felt. Definitely don't regret it and can't wait for my second dose to get it all over and done with.
Good luck

Vintagevixen · 14/04/2021 17:54

I had AZ first dose.

Fine in the day. Come night time - freezing cold, feet a block of ice, shivering uncontrollably - properly shivering like rigors. Then burning up, hyper pyrexial. Splitting headache. I honestly felt like death.

Almost fainted the next morning on the school run, just made it home to sleep.

Woke up to collect for school much better. I would recommend having a day off scheduled the next day.

Going to have my booster as I've started so I'll finish. But won't be having the vaccine in subsequent years, I never want to feel like that again. Had Covid last year and that was a breeze.

Kezzie200 · 14/04/2021 19:12

Az first dose and no side effects. Normal small bruise at injection site.

Kezzie200 · 14/04/2021 19:13

I didn't drink one week before and three after.

LondonJax · 14/04/2021 19:15

First day, no side effects. Second day I felt cold but still able to 'function' after a quiet type of day and a few paracetamol I was fine the next day.

TBH I have more side effects from the annual flu jab as I always get a raised lump on the injection site and a sore arm for a few days plus feel a bit 'meh'. This was a doddle compared to that.

Umbivalent · 14/04/2021 19:16

No interesting side effects to report here. AZ, aged 54.

Scbchl · 14/04/2021 19:17

I'm getting mine too. All the people older than me that I know who have had it - parents, in-laws, grandparents etc have been fine but my sister was really pretty ill for about four days so I'm a little bit worried. She is, however, a drama queen. I had covid last March so I'm sure it won't be as bad as it.

FolkSongSweet · 14/04/2021 19:37

DH and I are 33, no underlying health conditions. I had AZ at 9am, started feeling chills at about 7pm. By 9pm I was shaking uncontrollably, freezing and had a temperature of 39.7. Temp has gone down by early hours but I had a headache and felt shit for the next 2 days. No sore arm though. DH had a sore arm but fine otherwise!

Scbchl · 15/04/2021 21:15

How are you op? My dhs arms sore, mine isnt too bad. I had the whooping cough vaccine when pregnant 9 years ago and it was sore and red and swollen so in comparison its fine. Both feeling okay so far im a little tired.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/04/2021 22:17

Not so bad thanks, Scbchl . Had my vaccine this afternoon.
So far so good. However I'm aware that any side effects won't give taken hold yet. My arm is more itchy that sore.
