Does anyone else find it's very cold?

I know we are going through a weather spell right now. The temperature on my phone reads 7C and that's a daytime temperature.

Casting aside the 7C reading on the phone. I'm very much feeling a cold and a chill in my body. I saw my mom and she was a long sleeved t-shirt. I am wearing a hoodie and a cap indoors. I'm definitely feeling the cold in my body. Usually in the winter and when it's very cold, I feel it in my tummy with cramps. The cold goes through me.

Are other people feeling that it's this cold like a wintertime coldness or is it just me?

It was 20 degrees this time last year, the high where I am today is 8 degrees but this morning it was -2 degrees and it keeps trying to snow. So yes, you’re forgiven for being cold because it is actually very cold.

Worriesome · 11/04/2021 14:38

Definitely cold, I wouldn’t expect to have the heating on in mid April but it feels like November some days x

Bargebill19 · 11/04/2021 14:38

Well it’s snowing here. It’s cold!

transformandriseup · 11/04/2021 14:40

Yes. It's sunny but very cold down here and it feels more like February. Our heating is still on and it usually goes off at the beginning of March.

Next week is forecast to get warmer thank goodness.

Greengrassonhighroad · 11/04/2021 14:43

I was on two different courses of antibiotics over the past number of weeks and I thought I was experiencing an unusual coldness related to that but it's good to know its not just me. Thank you.

It’s so cold. I’m normally ok in Jan/Feb as it’s expected but I don’t think that brief warm spell the other week helped! I got used to a bit of warmth then it’s freezing again. The wind goes right though you.

What a shame as the pubs are about to open their gardens. Hopefully it will warm up a bit next week.

whenthebellsring · 11/04/2021 14:54

Yes I feel the same. Was actually complaining to DH that it's unusually cold even for what the temperature says. A weird chill in the air.

BearSoFair · 11/04/2021 14:54

Definitely cold, I've gone back into my thick winter jumpers!

Passthecake30 · 11/04/2021 14:55

I keep feeling very cold in the evening and end up wrapped in a blanket, while everyone else sits in their tshirts. So yes, it’s cold, but not for everyone?!

Spudlet · 11/04/2021 14:56

I’m wearing a base layer that DH bought for himself when he went to the Himalayas. It’s bloody freezing!

ThatOtherPoster · 11/04/2021 14:59

Thanks for starting this - I was beginning to wonder if I had thyroid problems! Yes, it's sodding freezing. I have to wear a T-shirt under a chunky jumper (then a coat if I go out) because I just have a constant icy chill down my back without a base layer.

And I sit with a blanket across my knees like a little old lady in the evenings. #grannylife

RightOnTheEdge · 11/04/2021 15:05

Yeah it's really cold.
It snowed here this morning. It's dry and sunny here now but freezing!
I'm sat in my snuggly dressing gown which I never normally wear during the day!

Slipperfairy · 11/04/2021 15:07

It looks glorious, but it's pissing freezing. I've just been sitting in my car cos it's toasty as anything in there with the sun on it.

Amdone123 · 11/04/2021 15:08

Really cold. I've been cold all week. One day after work, I sat on the couch shivering, too cold to move. When I finally moved, I got a shower, put pyjamas on and got into bed. It was 5pm !

uncomfortablydumb53 · 11/04/2021 15:10

I've been the same the last couple of days, There's a nip in the air, even in a sunny spell

RoseMartha · 11/04/2021 15:19

It is cold. In fact so cold my heat has come on. It doesnt come on every afternoon or morning. As I am in a middle flat and it stays fairly warm as a general rule and kicks in only on colder days.

When i popped out this morning the wind was really nippy more like February than April.

DarkMatterA2Z · 11/04/2021 15:21

I woke up this morning around 5.30am with very cold toes despite a thick duvet. I snuck through and put another blanket over my little DC, who was fast asleep, as I didn't want the cold waking them and spoiling my peaceful morning. Must have worked... they slept till 8.30am Grin. So, yes it does seem very cold. We were using the paddling pool this time last year, whereas we're still in coats and woolly socks in the garden atm.

DarkMatterA2Z · 11/04/2021 15:22

Oh, and my seedlings are still on the windowsill as I can't risk them outside yet.

CockneyCutie · 11/04/2021 15:22

@Amdone123
Oh, I hate that ‘too cold to move’ feeling!! Thought it was just me that got that!
DP had the open fire going at his house last night and I was wedged in front of it trying to get warm! There has been snow on the mountains here, and it’s tried to snow on and off all week!! I’m still wearing little vests and t shirts under my tops and the electric blanket is switched on every night!!
Hurry up spring, we’re waiting for you!!🌼🌸🌷

LeonardLikesThisPost · 11/04/2021 15:25

It was sleeting where I am this morning. I like to fling the window open as soon as I get up, and it was very bracing today.

Currently sitting under my trusty heated throw in a lovely chunky cashmere cardy.

I don't mind - I'm a winter girl so fine by me if it clings on a little longer. Appreciate I'm in a minority there though.

Same4Walls · 11/04/2021 15:27

@Bargebill19

Well it’s snowing here. It’s cold!
Same here. It's the 3rd or 4th time we've had snow this month, it's no wonder I'm constantly freezing at the minute.
Mintjulia · 11/04/2021 15:31

It's the Easter holidays. It has snowed every third Easter as long as I can remember.

Another 4 weeks and you should feel much better Smile

Same4Walls · 11/04/2021 15:34

Cripes where do you live? I cannot remember the last time it snowed in April before this year it's certainly not something that happens every 3 years.

EternalOptimist7 · 11/04/2021 15:35

Sooooo cold in Cornwall. The wind has been bitter

itsgettingwierd · 11/04/2021 15:37

Yes it's definitely a winter type cold that's chilling to the bone.

This morning I dried 2 sets of bedding g on the line in the sun and wind. Kept getting cloudy and was cold.

Knew we were due rain at 3 ish so brought it in at 2.30 as dry.

15 minutes later a snow shower passed Confused

I'm south coast. It was 24° this time last year!
