Last time my gym wanted masks when moving around the building but not when exercising IIRC. That doesn't bother me as I generally stay in the cardio room. They're pretty good about mask exemptions as well (they're part of a larger organisation which have included in every email mentioning mask wearing caveats about remembering not everyone can and treating everyone with respect, etc.)

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 04/05/2021 10:04

Morning all.

Outside masks seems to be lessening off around here, too. Although I 'turned someone's head' (in an avoidant kind of way) the other day as well.

DH and I had our first vaccines at the weekend. All quite slickly done, all in all. We've both felt a bit ropey for the last couple of days but mainly just tired and achy. I feel a bit better today, DH is still grumbling. But he's gone back to work and keeps making hopeful noises about lasagne for dinner so he can't be feeling that bad!

I'm also moving house next week and have lots of tidying and cleaning to do but I can't be bothered...

smallandimperfectlyformed · 04/05/2021 13:47

BloodyStupidJohnson good luck with the move, I will be hopefully moving soon and have started packing some stuff away and it is overwhelming! 3 kids in a 2 bedroom flat, there is a lot of stuff!!

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 04/05/2021 13:58

Good luck with yours too small. Moving is so discombobulating, isn't it? I don't like the lead-up, I just like having arrived, if you know what I mean. It doesn't help that this is a big one; we're moving over 400 miles so it's an epic undertaking that is going to take half the week.

BogRollBOGOF · 04/05/2021 14:57

That's a pretty epic move!

Our last one was local... as in 4 streets away! I had a 6m old and we got a mate with his van to shuttle back and forth. I walked between the houses with the van. There wasn't any time pressure either so I'd had chance to clean the new house down then clean the old one. It was about as straighforward as they come!

It's a very surreal process though.

That is moving from one end of the country to the other isn't it?! Wow. Jealous of your easy move there BogRollBOGOF. I am either doing a house exchange or moving back in with my mum so I actually don't know yet where I am going, just that I am leaving here!

justasking111 · 04/05/2021 21:04

Good luck house movers. Bloody mastitis again, you'd think post menopause I'd be done with all that. Dreading bed tonight rolling over in sleep, paracetamol taking the edge off of temperature

Last Christmas you promised five days but the very next day you took that away
This year to save me from tears
I will not take any notice.......notice. (repeat)

Another promise.........more lies.
We keep our distance but still the Covid spies.
Tell me now do you still like to fine us.
Another lockdown it wouldnt surprise us.
Merry Christmas, the rich still went on their trips
Got their haircut while pissing on our chips.
We know you see us as plebs
If you locked down now, public be abused again.
Last Christmas you promised five days. But the very next day you took that away
This year to save me from tears.
I will not take any notice.......notice (repeat)

Its not great but ive got seven months................

Please please please make that song go away by Christmas. Grin

flower11 · 05/05/2021 09:40

I'm guessing the pizza place I went to wasn't within the rules. Large marquee with a small gap on one side. Protected us nicely from the wind and rain.

Good luck to those that are moving.

I have been busy in real life. Dd is going through hell at school. I lost it yesterday and sobbed to the head. I've now been promised all sorts.

Hopefully an autism assessment, about four years too late, and I know it is a long road. But my heart is breaking for her at the moment that as a mother I just want to protect her and feel so powerless.

TabbyStar · 05/05/2021 09:48

I think there are a lot of places like that flower, roll up the sides when the inspectors come! Sorry about your DD, mine had a really difficult time in year 8, it was hell, I was frequently in contact with the school, she'd cry every night, wouldn't want to go in. I took her out for a year in the end, partly because I was going to break, though she also requested it in the end, one of the best things I did, though it was hard.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 05/05/2021 11:03

Sorry your daughter is struggling so much flower11 it is awful seeing your children being unhappy.

Worldgonecrazy · 05/05/2021 11:24

@flower11 hope that your daughter gets the support she needs. I think female socialisation means we learn to mask and minimise autistic traits making it harder for girls to get a diagnosis. Are the school being supportive?

Plus just being less recognised. My training on SENs was one afternoon of lectures/seminars. My awareness wasn't the worst and my own school was decent with inclusion. I trained about 18 years ago (eek!)
I don't think s hool would have recognised DS1's ASD and settled with dyslexia/ dyspraxia. He masks well and is at a nice cosy little s hool.

I need to get into gear and get hold of SENDIASS to get help for an EHCP appeal. I've had a couple of weeks to adjust to life turning back on now. (Threads about dyspraxia/ female ADHD always sound very personal!)

I wish the cold winds would do one.
Went running earlier and still had thermal leggings on. Went for short sleeves and gloves rather than a more seasonal vest. It's annoyingly hot/ cold simulataneously depending on what's catching the sun or shade!

Taswama · 05/05/2021 21:04

Sorry for your troubles @flower11 . Sounds really tough.
Having autistic kids is tough and not helped when the school isn't supportive.

flower11 · 05/05/2021 21:12

Thank you for your kind words. I found this thread so supportive when I first joined in lockdown one which really affected dd's behaviour. School are being supportive now ,but it has literally taken me reaching breaking point and the head seeing my distress to get to the point where they have taken notice.

Time to flock to an aerobics cla... oh wait... indoor classes are still banned aren't they.

There's been a bit out today about GP appointments being down (how many GPs have basically shut up?) but the proportion of depression/ mental health issues as a proportion has soared.

I'm taking St John's Wort now. My underlying mood had been too low/ flat since the autumn. It has eased that flat battery feeling. I love junior parkrun being back. It's pretty much normal and has such a lovely buzz of people to nourish my soul.

Worldgonecrazy · 06/05/2021 06:30

Maybe go appointments are down because people have given up trying to get one? I’m sick of having to phone at one second past opening to be 123rd in the queue for a phone consultation. There used to be a system whereby anything urgent could be seen at the end of surgery if appointments weren’t available. Not anymore, because covid.

110APiccadilly · 06/05/2021 06:51

Was talking to a colleague the other day. Within a wider team of about 40, we've had two worsening physical problems (me and someone similar), one mental health problem bad enough that the person concerned is on sick leave (and goodness knows how many people with problems not as severe) and one suicide.

It's a good thing we've had lockdown to protect our health, isn't it? Think what a state we'd be in otherwise.

Taswama · 06/05/2021 08:10

Well we might actually be able to support each other!

Taswama · 06/05/2021 08:11

In person I mean, you lot are obviously great.

110APiccadilly · 06/05/2021 08:29

I was being heavily sarcastic - suddenly worried that didn't come across!
