I signed up to a different forum a few weeks. I was relatively new on the forum. I had an account there before years ago but closed it down. I joined up recently to take part in some local discussions on covid and other current affairs. I was polite everywhere in all of my dealings and I wasn't hostile.

Eventually I got a message into my inbox. I wasn't logged in at the time and I didn't read it straight away. When I looked in I found that there was 6 PMs sent from another user in the space of about an hour.

I read the messages and the tone was not a nice tone. The poster was mistaking me for someone else or an ex and she was rehashing a lot of their rows. There was some threats as well.

I replied to say she has the wrong person and I reported the messages.

By that evening I was banned from the forums. Not only that, I would consider the message ls that were sent into my inbox to be abusive and there was no action taken against that user. I clicked on the site to have a read because you can do that while not being logged in. There was no action taken against the user and the user continues to post.

To be banned from a forum is not the end of the world and there's so many more nice things out in the world but its a bit sore and hard to swallow because the other user who sent me messages with a bad tone, has a free pass.

The messages read 'bunny boiler' stuff to me. Definitely someone out with an axe to grind.
