What makes your house popular?

I’m looking forward to play dates when we can have people INDOORS Grin

My DCs’ best friends both have amazing gardens and we can’t compete for space and toys there. We have a nice enough house but I want to make their friends feel like they’ve had a good time when they come (and not like “well that was like being at home except no space or big fun toys” which is what garden play dates are like!!)

What have you done that’s been super popular with your DCs’ friends when they come over? All still primary age so not at the gaming stage yet.

Thanks in advance Smile

Years ago I picked up a ping pong set at IKEA just because it caught my eye. The net screws onto the kitchen table. It's not as big as a full size table but it's big enough. It's kept our children, their friends, god children and DH and I amused for 25 years! Best thing is it takes 5 minutes to set up or put away and can also be used on a garden table. The whole set fits in a sainsburys bag. It's such fun and really good exercise! Two people can play or a larger group can do a prize 'tournament'. It cost £4!

I just checked, and IKEA don't do them anymore but there's one on amazon for £4.99.
