When signing off from an email? We have varying answers in my house, so interested in other opinions. And yes, we're a bit bored ...

Yours

Best wishes

Kind regards

Faithfully

Regards

Sincerely

Respectfully

I look forward to hearing from you

Regards and respectfully as sign offs are from someone that is annoyed

The others are all just general sign offs

Regards = I can't specify what I regard you as. Cunt.

FairyDust123456 · 05/04/2021 13:13

Kind regards (to clients/external people) moving on to Many thanks if chain continues. Thanks ☺️ to most internal colleagues! Never regards or best wishes etc. Just one of those three sign offs.

OrangeBananaFish · 05/04/2021 13:32

At work if I'm asking for something to be done I sign off with Many thanks. If its an informative email its kind regards, but I do drop the kind if I'm pissed off with the person I'm replying to like the twat at work the other day who blamed me for something another department had not done

Our office sign off must be kind regards.

But many people at other companies often use plain old 'regards'. They do so whoever they are dealing with so myst be their standard. Does not mean they are angry, it means they dont have to use such wanky sign offs.

What the fuck is a 'regard' anyway?

I trust the content of my email is clear.

Well yes, that is unashamedly passive aggressive. Not even trying to hide it.

@Watto1

Dropping the ‘kind’ from ‘kind regards’ translates as ‘I am really pissed off with you’
This!
